Fundraising for our Nominated Charity The annual tally of our efforts this year for St Peter & St James Charitable Trust Over the year we have had a couple of opportunities to fundraise for the Hospice. We held a Quiz night in September at The Lost Pier Taproom which generated over £300 and in May of course we had the BHBiz24 Awards, where we sold raffle tickets and offered banner displays. Even the table arrangements on the night provided by Bella June Flowers were all sold off. The final total for 2024 was £2,331.00. That gives us a target to beat next year, we hope to raise far more. Many thanks to all individuals and companies that donated to this very worthy cause. We want you to make the most of your membership. Get in touch with Richard Cox: richard.cox@bhbpa.co.uk

Fidelity recently published a report on how many individual and dollars were donated to charities via the Fidelity Charitable Donor Advised Fund. I like studying how much people donate to charities because, in my opinion, helping others is a choice not a requirement. If money is tight are you more likely to pay your mortgage/rent or give to a charity? If money is plentiful are you more likely to take a second vacation / buy something expensive or give to a charity? This is important to me because our motto is making a difference in the lives of our employees, clients and community. Here is the link to the entire report, which I found very interesting https://lnkd.in/dDDgQGmz

READ THIS before you donate to charity 👇 In order to provide proof to the IRS that you've made a charitable donation, you need to document these things: → The name of the qualified organization → The amount and date of the contribution → Fair market value of the property donated → Acknowledgment of the contribution by the organization (for contributions valued at over $250) → Benefits received in exchange for your contribution #taxtime #moneytips #taxprofessional

Ninety-four percent of the Scripture engaged reported giving something to charity in the past year and their median amount of giving was $2,000. By contrast, among the “movable middle” defined as those who score between 70 and 99 on the Scripture Engagement Scale, just 75% donated to charity and their median donation was $288. Less than half of the “Bible disengaged” (43%), referring to those who score less than 70 on the Scripture Engagement Scale, gave to charity and their median amount of giving was $0. This means that more than half of respondents in this category did not donate to charitable causes. https://lnkd.in/ghU_rbzR

Year-end charitable giving is often associated with the spirit of doing good during the holiday season. It gives the donor a feeling of satisfaction and, in some cases, a substantial tax write-off. However, one question that often comes regarding charitable donations is: should you spread out your donations throughout the year or give a donation all at once? This article provides information to help you decide whether to donate the total amount at once or spread your donation throughout the year. https://lnkd.in/eg8sU9W9
