It’s surprising how Black Friday deals still carry such a strong cultural presence, despite many offers advertising discounts ranging from 0% to 90% but without any actual price reductions. It raises the question: why does this culture persist? Marketers are quick to celebrate when they get clicks, but customers often find that the prices in their cart remain the same, even after seeing big discount percentages. One might assume that as the discount percentage increases, the advertising rates would decrease accordingly. However, the reality is that the ad costs often rise with the discounted price tags. This makes you wonder: how fair is it for all those “discount percentages” to simply be used to boost marketing budgets, instead of offering true value to customers?
