Imagine a place where the silent sacrifices of military families are not only recognized but also actively supported. Where nature's tranquility heals, and the collective voice of a community advocates for the unseen and unheard. This is the story of the Betsy Eves Group—a narrative of how passion, when paired with purpose, can ignite a beacon of hope for military spouses, caregivers, and their families. But why does this work matter? Because behind every uniform, there is a family—a network of individuals whose love, resilience, and sacrifices underpin the very freedoms we cherish. Our efforts go beyond mere acknowledgment; they strive to ensure that these families are empowered, supported, and honored not just in words, but in every action we take. The challenges facing military families continue to evolve, and so too must our efforts to support them. Our annual letter is not just a reflection of what we've achieved but a clarion call to action. It's an invitation to join us in this mission of hope, healing, and empowerment. To stand with us as we advocate for change, nurture connections, and celebrate the unwavering spirit of our military families. Download and read our full 2024 Annual Letter today. Let it be a reminder of the impact we can achieve together, and the enduring power of a community united in purpose and compassion. https://lnkd.in/gHC2Q5Vm

Honoring Patriot Day Today, we observe Patriot Day, a solemn day of remembrance for the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Established by a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush in December 2001, Patriot Day honors the nearly 3,000 victims of the tragic attacks and recognizes the bravery of the first responders and ordinary citizens who risked their lives to save others. On this day, we reflect on the resilience and unity that emerged from such profound loss. We remember the courage and selflessness displayed and reaffirm our commitment to the values of freedom and democracy that define our nation. Call to Action: Moment of Silence: At 8:46 AM, the time the first plane struck the North Tower, observe a moment of silence to honor the victims. Volunteer: Engage in community service to honor the spirit of unity and service. Support First Responders: Express gratitude to local first responders and support organizations that assist them. Educate and Reflect: Share stories and lessons learned from 9/11 with younger generations. Let’s come together to honor and remember, and to continue to build a future rooted in unity and resilience. #PatriotDay #NeverForget #September11 #HonorTheFallen #FirstResponders #Unity #Resilience #ServiceAndSacrifice #AmericanHeroes

Hayley Ann Boswell ⭐️This hit me. Our eldest is onto her 7th school and all four of our children have faced challenges with their education due to being Defence Kidz. Thankfully, they have also thrived. As Defence families, we do not get to pick where we live. The amount of times some snarky person on the phone has said to me, "Why didn't you have them on the wait list from birth?" We, as Defence families, don't get that luxury. How about priority of placement for Defence Kidz in ALL childcare centres. Who needs respite more than a Defence spouse doing it solo? How about State School of CHOICE? We don't get to pick where we live, so how about allowing us to pick the State school that best suits our child regardless of catchment area? Small actionable outcomes that would give Defence families a little bit of power to determine the best educational outcomes for their children. These options are already available to at risk children, so the framework is there. How about our Defence Kidz?

Did you know that military children move an average of 6 to 9 times during their Reception-year 12 education? The resilience they exhibit is nothing short of extraordinary. But it's not just about the numbers; it's about the faces behind them. These little faces are the reason we advocate so fiercely and passionately. We recently created this video that perfectly encapsulates the hard times and the celebrations of our defence families, with the photos supplied by our defence community. It's a poignant reminder of why we do what we do. We're not just advocating for policies or benefits; we're advocating for real people, real families, and real lives. As someone deeply involved in this advocacy, I've seen firsthand the difference it can make. From improved educational opportunities to connecting events for veteran families, the changes we fight for have a tangible impact on these families' lives. It's not just about making their lives easier; it's about honouring their sacrifices and ensuring they have the support they deserve. But there's still so much work to be done. As we look to the future, we must continue to push for meaningful change. We must listen to these families, understand their unique challenges, and work tirelessly to address them. So, I ask you, what changes do you think are most needed to support our veteran families? What can we do to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met? Share your thoughts in the comments below. If you found this post insightful or helpful, please give it a like and consider reposting it to spread the word. Together, we can make a difference. #MilitaryFamilies #Advocacy #SupportOurveteranfamilies Kelly Hopkins Prof. Neil Curtis Rochelle Feenan Liam Vernon Rebecca Zanol Miranda Van Hooff

Every Blip on the Radar Matters..... Today is Giving Tuesday, and I want to share why I work with Avalon Action Alliance and why this mission matters so deeply to me. I’m not here to turn fellow veterans into victims or feed/target the "veteran industry", I’m here for impact. To drive meaningful change, coordinate efforts…. and above all help the team get veterans and first responders, that are in need, back in the fight—living with strength, purpose, and the ability to bounce back. Every dollar donated, even just one, is a blip on the radar—a powerful message that you believe in what we’re doing. That you stand with us in saying that me and my fellow veterans deserve more than a system that commodifies our challenges. Our community needs real care, real opportunities, and a real path to thriving. We’re not about numbers; we’re about lives. About creating lasting, tangible impact for those who have sacrificed so much. Every donation, every share, every voice proves that we’re on the right path. So today, I’m asking you: Stand with us. With every veteran and first responder who needs to know their service and sacrifices were not in vain and they are welcomed back into the communities they fought for. Join me in making today a #DayOfImpact. Together, we can heal, rebuild, and empower. https://lnkd.in/e8CaXUds #ThankYou #Grateful #GivingTuesday #WeCantDoThisWithoutYou #StandWithVeterans#AvalonActionAlliance #veterans, #SOF #GreenBeret #community #army #navy #spaceforce #airforce #marines #firefighters #police #firstresponders #coastguard #TBI # PTS #PTSD #SOBERLIVING #thrive #leadership #pmp #projectmanagement #mentalhealth #TransformLives

I want to address my approach on Memorial Day, specifically two previous posts. I received some feedback that were critical of my words, on why we fight, and received claims that I made Memorial Day about me instead of those who gave up their lives for our country. I hear you and get it. I suppose I’m frustrated. I see lives lost for decades and wonder what overall strategic and positive impact war has had. I wonder if there is any end to forever wars as money keeps flowing in DC. I see people honoring all those who die and yes, I get pissed off. So instead, I hoped it might help to do something about it. Share if you’re willing to vote with your feet. Bring in people who might not be interested in forever wars. Those who might not want the bloat of our government to continue. Otherwise, we’ll keep having dead bodies. That’s the reality. I know I’m not perfect in my words, but I get in the arena as a podcaster and with my own experiences, and I do hope that it helps even if it’s just a little. Deaths in combat have impacted me too. I just recently learned that the old blog we used when I served at Joint Special Operations Task Force - Philippines 🇵🇭 happens to still be online. The month I reported, we lost two Soldiers. Here’s the story I wrote about the memorial. It was surreal and sad. It made me realize how precious and fragile life really is. This is why I question what’s the purpose to begin with and hope one day we have a reckoning where global leaders decide that profits and power are not more important than conflict. However, I as an active duty member who for now can still use 1st Amendment speech protections will continue to ask one basic question. 𝗪𝗵𝘆?

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Fallen Heroes This Memorial Day 🇺🇲 Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, is a solemn day to remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country. More Than a Summer Kickoff! While Memorial Day often marks the unofficial start of summer, with barbecues and backyard get-togethers, it's important to remember the true meaning of the holiday. It's a day to honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom. 🇺🇲 Ways to Observe Memorial Day - Visit a cemetery or memorial: Pay your respects to fallen soldiers by placing flags on their graves or attending a local ceremony. - Volunteer your time: Many organizations hold events to honor veterans on Memorial Day. Consider volunteering at a veteran's home or participating in a fundraising event. - Learn about the history of Memorial Day: Reflect on the origins of the holiday and the sacrifices made throughout American history. - Moment of silence: At 3:00 pm local time on Memorial Day, a National Moment of Remembrance is held. Pause for a moment of silence wherever you are to honor those who died serving our country. #MemorialDay #HonorTheFallen #NeverForget 🇺🇸 By remembering and honoring our fallen heroes, we can ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.
