Orchard Piper unveils exclusive collection of hotel-serviced residence Design-led property developer Orchard Piper, together with partner, The Carter Group has unveiled an exclusive collection of 54 Orchard Piper-branded residences on St Kilda Road. “Our goal with The Carter Building was to create a lifestyle that seamlessly blends the privacy of a premium residence with the convenience of a five-star hotel. Using insights from our existing customers, we’re providing a very deliverable service offering to include everything from concierge and valet parking to housekeeping and room service, so residents can experience a low maintenance lifestyle of complete convenience,” said Orchard Piper Director Luke McKie. “Partnering with The Carter Group has allowed us to realise our long-term vision for this iconic site. The Carter Building will play a key role in the revitalisation of St Kilda Road, bringing renewed vibrancy to this iconic boulevard and building upon its status as a premier residential precinct,” said Orchard Piper Director, Rick Gronow. The building, designed by internationally acclaimed Kerry Hill Architects KHA— renowned for their work with Aman Hotels — combines sophistication with warmth. “KHA’s approach creates architecture where every element has a purpose. By stripping back unnecessary ornamentation, we allow the narrative of the building to emerge through an iterative design process,” said KHA Director Seán McGivern. KHA Director Patrick Kosky added, “Our design for The Carter Building responds to the greater urban fabric and scale of the city, featuring deep facades to manage solar exposure while still allowing natural light and warmth to penetrate the interiors.” Read more on The ASEAN Developer - https://lnkd.in/gJXjPRxM Brad Gore Ben McKie Julia Pappas Tara Slade Michael Tze Wei Na Luxury List The Hotel Conversation #development #victoriadevelopment #residentialdevelopment #hoteloperations #brandedresidences #hotelresidences #hoteldevelopment #hoteldeveloper #hotel #hotels #hotelnews

We recently updated Drayton Court Hotel in Ealing, developing a scheme that could be implemented over a 10-week construction period, limiting the closure of the business. In that short timeframe, we refreshed 27 rooms and five suites, bringing the decor back into line with the building's rich Victorian history and melding this with contemporary features that travellers expect to see in a hotel of this calibre. It might be surprising, but this kind of project aligns perfectly with our sustainable design ethos, compelling us to think carefully about what we can reuse, refurbish and refresh from the existing design. You can read more about the project in this week's journal article below... #designthinking #interiordesign #sustainabledesign

Big news for anyone who loves iconic architecture and design! The Waldorf Astoria New York is making a comeback in Spring 2025 after an incredible(albeit long) makeover. It's nice to see those involved were able to keep the Art Deco charm while adding modern luxury across the newly designed rooms and suites. In my opinion, it is a nice blend of history, elegance, innovation and worth the wait. Here’s what I’m curious about: 💬 How do you balance preserving history with modernizing a space? 🌆 What’s your favorite example of a building that nailed this balance? 💬 What trends in hospitality design do you think will define New York’s future? Excited to see industry professionals thoughts. https://lnkd.in/eq--ECn7
