Apropos of my post the other day, just caught up with a growth VC who shared an anecdote about a company that just pitched him. It's a hype-y startup tested the market to fundraise: - Hit $10M ARR off just PLG - Their hobbyist market is starting to get saturated though from a monetization perspective - They need to layer on enterprise sales to fuel continued growth, but have zero clue how to do it - Trying to build a GTM team but it's TBD if there's enterprise demand for their product - While they have over a year of cash, there's no proof points today for investors that enterprise sales will work - All investors passed and are waiting to see if/how this layering on of enterprise sales will pan out - Next 2-3 quarters going to be critical for them... Related note: Their valuation is in the $500M-$1B range, so even if they start getting some enterprise traction, how can a new investor underwrite that 🤔
