People are busy. Schedules can become insane, and workloads often mean we’re zoned in on individual projects. The time I get offsite with my ICE Academy team is SUPER important for the following reasons: 🌟 Brings us closer together! We laugh, share, and always ensure we find ways to support each other! 🌟 Huge focus on strategy! We get right to the point and roll up our sleeves to find solutions! 🌟 Actions! We collectively identify and assign actions, ensuring workload is evenly spread and things get going right away! 🌟 Creativity! We always make sure to have our meetings off site so that we’re not distracted and out of our comfort zones! 🌟 Alignment! All cards are on the table and we never move on until we’re aligned and happy with the outcome! 🌟 Food! Today’s meeting was at Ffos Caerffili - so having SO many delicious options is always a bonus! The research that informed the Drexler/Sibbet Team Performance Model showed that people are concerned early on about whether or not they fit into a team process and whether or not others will accept them meaningfully. This free, best practice called Stringing of the Beads is used to focus energy before beginning a meeting and creates a special place for openness. In the metaphor each person represents a bead, and when people all have had a turn to speak, a beautiful necklace strings together.
