Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history marking the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were now free - over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a day to reflect on the immense human suffering and violation of rights during the shameful era of slavery. But it is also a day to celebrate the perseverance of the human spirit and the triumph of freedom over oppression. At Ecosystems.io our core purpose is making value clear. Juneteenth shines a light on the profound value of liberty - recognizing the intrinsic dignity and worth of every human being. It reminds us that when systems unjustly deprive people of their fundamental rights and freedoms, we must have the courage to dismantle those systems. Let us continue striving to build a society where every person's inherent value as a human being is clear, protected and celebrated.
