The Beer Institute recently asked more than 2,000 adults of legal drinking age their thoughts on beer’s role in society. What we learned is something that felt inherently known, that beer is deeply ingrained in the heart of American culture. Beer brings the nation together. It's nonpartisan. It's brewed on common ground. Whether it's for holidays or outings with friends and family — beer is America's favorite alcohol drink. The compelling infographic we've created in partnership with Morning Consult highlights some of our top findings. As the winter holidays are quickly approaching, beer will be a part of many of your traditions. Share in the comments what stands out to you and what we can share in the new year. #BeerCulture #BeerInsights

Do you skew international or domestic if and when you drink beer? If the latter, did you celebrate #AmericanBeer 🇺🇸🍺Day? No worries if not — it fell on a Sunday this year (10/27) so that means you have all week 😆 (✨🍻✨ 👈🏾 that's what I call a #BeerCheers -- which you'll see us do in this video too... ) Now that you've got plenty of time to celebrate it, check out this highlight vid I shared from my “Savory & Sweet Show” vault re: the value of serving up and providing hidden beer history for a client— via a 2022 harvest season convo with Kim Harris, co-owner of Harlem Hops .. + Below is the link to my 2024 #AmericanBeerDay blogpost that sheds a little light on the surprising underpinnings of our nation's thriving beer industry. It's intended to serve as inclusively empowering intel for future beer-based entrepreneurs of all hues (albeit potentially "controversial" or even contested -- especially these days depending on what one imagines the profile or Avatar of the “#averageAmerican #beerdrinker” is, always was, or 'should be')… I’d love to know whether what’s in this brief blogpost (and any of the other TFG beer posts I wrote that it links to) is new information to you or if it’s familiar in any way (i.e, you’ve heard it or perhaps bits of it before -- along with your comments or q’s — including ways you think info like this either could or wouldn’t ever possibly impact beer businesses & the industry at large. I’ll stay tuned … 👁️👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/eKAxJExE

We think this is extremely clever from FUNKIN COCKTAILS | B Corp™ and here is why. RTD cocktails index highest with the under 35’s all the data points in this direction. This cross section of Gen Z and early Millennials have something in common – they devour social media and its where they spend a lot of their time. The content hits the right markers. ✅ it’s an obligatory and slightly wacky April Fool prank ✅ the production value is high. Funkin have clearly invested many ten’s of thousands into the activation ✅ highly shareable content in the social networks Funkin want eyeballs The overwhelming tick here though is Thomas Gray. Most people haven’t heard of Thomas Gray, but many of the target demographic have. Thomas Gray is a social media comedian who has a loyal following (if you know you know) plus has the ability for delivering viral content (his Stag Do sketch has millions of views on You Tube alone). Thomas Gray isn’t the biggest social comedian but using him to front the campaign will have a halo effect for Funkin of being in the know and relevant. This is something we are seeing more and more of. Drinks brands aligning with cultural influencers to leverage their ability to produce highly shareable content (Check out - Top Jaw, Archie Curzon and MOB) A quick glance this morning shows the media and social reach is gathering steam. Funkin have been smart because they have done the simple things well. Know your target audience, create high quality shareable content and anchor to a relevant social media influencer. The trick here is to be data led and understand what holds cultural significance for your audience. #drinksmarketing #beveragemarketing #marketingactivation #drinksagency

In the next chapter of our #BrewingFacts series, let's tackle another prevalent myth surrounding beer consumption. Enjoying a beer doesn't mean overindulgence. Beer consumption is about appreciating the craftmanship and quality of the Beer which the Brewer has nursed the Beer through & not quantity. For many, the experience serves as a relaxing environment for bonding and light-hearted conversations. Remember, responsible drinking enhances the experience further, allowing you to savor the flavors and enjoy the craftsmanship behind each brew. Join us as we continue to shed light on common misconceptions about beer. #MythVsFact #GoodTimes This content is intended for individuals above legal drinking age only. Enjoy responsibly!

The famous ancient Code of Hammurabi stated that bartenders who watered down beer would be executed … … as the daily beer ration to all citizens of ancient Babylon was essential to all. The code also stated that short pouring a customer was punishable by death. Yes, death. The Code of Hammurabi ordered beer was that important to the lives of all citizens of ancient Babylon. The Code of Hammurabi classified beer into 20 different categories, with eight of them required to be made entirely from barley. The importance of beer is recorded in one of the VERY first recorded laws. In ancient Egypt, beer was essential for laborers, like those building the pyramids of Giza: its laborers were provided with a daily ration of over 10 pints of the delicious brew. Despite traditional belief, it was not slaves but a paid labor force that built some of the most iconic structures in world history. Beer, fueled that labor. In ancient Babylon, almost all tavern-keepers (not to mention brewers, generally) were women. Yes, you read that correctly. Men hunted and made war; women grew food and made beer. And second, “shall be… thrown into the water” does not mean that the offending tavern-keeper was merely tossed in the nearest river and left to sputter. Oh no. It meant that the guilty party was thrown into the nearest river and held there until “she” stopped sputtering. You see, most tavern-keepers and barkeeps (bartenders) were women. Hence, we’ve come a long way, baby. That is … in most societies 🤓 “You’ve come a long way, baby.” — famous Virginia Slims cigarette Ad *‘You've Come a Long Way, Baby’ is the name of the second album of the electronic musician Fatboy Slim, released in 1998* Source: The Beerconomist #ConsumerBehavior #EmergingTrends #BrandAwareness #BusinessIntelligence #Microbreweries #Pubs #Taprooms #Brewpubs #Beer #CraftBeer #NonAlcoholicBeer #Cider #RTD ✦✦✦ Stephen Carter King Chief of Growth and Marketing and Strategy • Beer Market Analyst • Beerconomy & Co. Ah, National Root Beer Float Day—one of those delightful little celebrations that brings a sweet, fizzy smile to your face! 🍦 There's something so nostalgic about that frothy mix of creamy vanilla ice cream and cold, bubbly root beer. It takes me back to simpler times, like summer afternoons spent on my grandparents' porch, where my cousins and I would sip on root beer floats as we soaked up the sunshine. Did you know the root beer float has its origins in Colorado? Yep, it was invented back in 1893 by Frank J. Wisner, who was inspired by the snow-capped Cow Mountain in Cripple Creek. He thought the snow looked like vanilla ice cream floating on top of soda, and just like that, the root beer float was born! Little moments of inspiration can spark the sweetest creations, don't you think? As much as I love helping folks find their dream homes, I can't resist a good root beer float—especially when I can pair it with a stroll through one of our beautiful neighborhoods. It’s the little things that make a place feel like home, right? Whether it's a cozy nook by the window or that perfect spot in the backyard for a family barbecue, it's all about those personal touches that make life so special. So, how are you celebrating today? Maybe whipping up a classic root beer float for the kids, or perhaps you’ve got a twist on the recipe that’s all your own? I'd love to hear about it—let's swap some float stories! And if you're ever in the mood to chat about homes, neighborhoods, or where to find the best local eats (like those hidden gems for the perfect root beer float), you know where to find me. Cheers to sweet treats and even sweeter connections! 🏡✨ #NationalRootBeerFloatDay #SweetMemories #RealEstateAndFloats #HomeSweetHome

Beer and hot dogs are as patriotic as it gets. But cracking open the cooler at your July 4th barbecue, you could be seeing fewer traditional brews, with alternatives like spiked seltzers and canned cocktails stealing their real estate. And you can blame the youngs for that: The youngest cohort of legal-aged drinkers from Gen Z, which encompass the ages from 21 to 26, are “drinking completely different than any other generation we’ve seen before,” according to NIQ’s Kaleigh Theriault. More on CNN about how they are disrupting Big Beer's business. https://shorturl.at/dNTYP
