Tales of Obsession and Desire: The Invisible Collection's Latest Mushroom - Bravo Les Filles What do women want to bring to creation? 'Procreation' was the answer for centuries, until perhaps the middle of the 20th century - as exposed by the French-speaking Canadian author, Nancy Huston in her 1990 essay, 'Le Journal de la Creation'. What do women want to bring to creation today? EVERYTHING. Highly desirable designs, sustainable practices, and creative collaborations proving that if we want to go further we should praise collaboration over competition. Un grand bravo to Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays, Lily Froehlicher and Anna Zaoui, founders of The Invisible Collection; a B-Corp-certified company who were the first to digitalise the world of artisanal furniture and to offer the most refined repertoire of design and craftsmanship. Another grand bravo to Haya Hizami and Isabelle Townsley, founders of Asseids-Toii and mothers to the iconic Mushroom Stool, established in 2022 and were immediately recognised by tastemakers and forces of change in design. A special acknowledgement to the visionnaire, Eleanor Freya Gregory who accompanied the brand in launching their first-ever deadstock collection last year. Their new range exclusively at The Invisible Collection is made from DEDAR MILANO fabric. Founded in 1976, DEDAR MILANO prides itself on being a 'family-run fabric house...located close to Como'. The dedicated craftsmen at DEDAR MILANO 'combine precious yarns with research into fibre technology' to enhance both style and functionality. #femaleledbrands #luxury #interiordesign #bcorporation #theinvisiblecollection

In a world where fast fashion and trends dominates, the demand for sustainable choices has never been more critical. At Vita Nordica we believe that sustainability is not just a trend—it's a commitment to creating a legacy. Inspired by the elegance of Nordic and Italian 1950s classics, our mission is to reinvent timeless furniture that resonates with modern aesthetics while prioritizing our planet is our mission. Sustainability for us goes beyond using eco-friendly materials or implementing circular design practices, though we certainly embrace both. It's about designing furniture that not only stands the test of time but also tells a story—stories of artisans who have dedicated their lives to mastering their crafts, and communities who thrive on traditional methods. Each piece we create is a nod to those craftspeople, keeping their artistry alive by integrating their techniques into our designs. But we are not lost in the past. Technology allows us to push boundaries. We experiment with unconventional shapes, textures, and finishes. Our designs have an edge – a contemporary twist that resonates with today’s discerning clientele. The Power of Lasting Design When we talk about sustainability, we often zoom in on the materials we use. While sourcing responsibly is crucial, we must also consider the longevity of our creations. A well-designed piece can be cherished for generations, becoming an integral part of family histories and change hands if needed and in that way save virgin materials for new furniture. Our commitment lies in crafting pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable and timeless. Artisanship at the Heart of Creating Classics In our quest to create new classics, we draw upon the rich heritage of craftsmanship passed down through generations. By working closely with skilled artisans, we are not only ensuring the quality of our products but also helping sustain local communities. These artisans bring their passion, history, and skill to each piece, infusing it with unique character and authenticity. When you choose our furniture, you're not just making a purchase; you're becoming a part of this legacy. You're supporting the artisans and designers who pour their hearts into every detail, keeping traditional techniques alive while also inspiring innovation in design. #Sustainability #Craftsmanship #TimelessDesign #NewClassics #FurnitureForGenerations #EcoFriendlyLiving #SupportLocalArtisans

Year after year, the Milan Furniture Fair stands as a cornerstone in the design world, and this year, we had the privilege of experiencing it through the eyes of our friend and collaborator, Louis Berger. Attending the Salone del Mobile Milano presents an invaluable opportunity to connect with designers, suppliers, and peers in the industry, while also cultivating new relationships and adding exciting products to our furniture collection. Hosted at the Rho Fiera fairgrounds from April 16-21, this year’s Salone Milano showcased thought-provoking and innovative furniture designs from global designers. Unlike the past editions dominated by earth tones and safe designs, this year’s fair emphasized bold aesthetics, ingenuity, and sustainability, featuring materials that are kind to our planet. Over the next few days, we will share the stunning visuals captured by Louis Berger, highlighting the spectacle of this event and why missing it means missing out on a key fixture in the design calendar if you're not in Italy in April. Documentation was conducted at the following locations and exhibits: ADI Museum - Salone Exhibitions Aesop - Form Follow Formulation Audi - Reflaction BMW - Neue Klasse Bottega Veneta - Cassina x LeCorbusier Dibbern - Showcase 2024 Emeco to Emeco - Special Exhibition Flos - New Products 2024 #design #designeducation #industrialdesign #furniture #salonedelmobile

Last month, I had the pleasure of attending High Point Market, where I explored the latest furniture launches and textile collections. One trend that stood out? Warm color tones are here to stay—and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Over the past year, I’ve been drawn to rich browns, but now we’re seeing a shift toward opulent earth tones like deep forest greens, warm rusts, and luscious browns. I can’t wait to see how my fellow designers embrace and elevate these hues in the coming years! #highpointmarket #interiordesigntrends #colortrends

In the contemporary landscape of creativity, we are witnessing a dynamic fusion of art, design, and fashion, where traditional boundaries blur to make way for innovative collaborations. These unexpected partnerships seamlessly marry artistic expression with functionality and aesthetics, thus opening up new perspectives and elevating the concept of design to unprecedented levels. An illustrative example of this creative convergence can be seen through emblematic spaces such as Kith in Paris. This venue transcends the mere framework of a clothing store to become a veritable temple of streetwear culture, where art, design, and fashion coexist to offer an immersive experience. Additionally, artists like Daniel Arsham offer highly interesting collaborations blending design and fashion, such as his partnership with the luxury luggage brand Rimowa. However, certain brands also aim to emphasize sustainable aesthetics, as Stella McCartney and B&B Italia have done by creating a collection of interior design furniture that is elegant and environmentally friendly. As we delve into this stimulating fusion of art, design, and fashion, the arrival of Milan Design Week invites us to significantly project ourselves onto this prestigious event, which brings together the brightest minds and the most innovative creations. It presents a unique opportunity to discover new daring collaborations and immerse ourselves in a world where creativity knows no bounds. #Luxury #Advisory #DesignWeek

The video below shows Bvlgari's store. It's Bvlgari Shanghai. MVRDV, the architectural firm behind the project, designed a striking facade for Bvlgari Shanghai store that seamlessly blends sustainability, cultural references, and luxury aesthetics. The design incorporates recycled glass from champagne bottles, transforming waste into a stunning architectural element. Here's a breakdown of how they achieved this architecture: ➡️ Recycled Glass Panels: The facade features panels made from compressed green glass, created entirely from recycled materials. This approach demonstrates the potential of sustainable materials in luxury contexts. ➡️ Art Deco Inspiration: The design draws inspiration from Art Deco motifs, connecting Bulgari's heritage with Shanghai's rich architectural history. This cultural fusion is expressed through layered panels forming an Art Deco-inspired pattern. ➡️ Jade-like Appearance: The recycled green glass panels are designed to resemble jade, China's most precious stone, creating a connection to local culture while maintaining Bulgari's luxury image. ➡️ Energy-Efficient Lighting: The facade incorporates a backlight system that uses less than half the energy of typical comparable installations, enhancing the glass's unique texture while minimizing environmental impact. This project is a prime example of creating store designs using 100% circular economy materials. #CircularEconomy Follow me (Harshal) for exciting #ESG and #climatechange trivia.
