"Better late than never! I’m super late sharing this, but I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been awarded a Certificate of Recognition for attending the Smart Environment Hackathon at Mansoura University!" During this intensive 24-hour period from March 16th to 24th, I had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies aimed at environmental sustainability. One of the most exciting projects we worked on was the development of the "Beach Rover" robot. This autonomous robot is designed to tackle plastic waste on beaches by collecting and recycling it. It operates on solar energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution for beach cleanups. The Beach Rover is equipped with advanced sensors and AI technology to navigate the coastline and efficiently gather non-biodegradable waste, primarily plastics. Once collected, it sorts and processes the waste for recycling, transforming it into reusable materials. This solution not only helps in reducing beach pollution but also promotes the importance of recycling at the source, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. #SmartEnvironment #GreenFuture

We Have Always Wanted to Harvest the Power of Bugs,” Volvo Declares as It Unveils New Insect-Powered Trucks" Gothenburg, Sweden – In a groundbreaking press conference today, Volvo Trucks announced its latest innovation in sustainable transportation: the world’s first insect-powered truck. The new line, dubbed the “Volvo BuzzzLine,” harnesses the untapped kinetic energy of bugs to fuel its engines. “We’ve always been at the forefront of green technology,” said Volvo’s head of R&D, Dr. Johan McFly. “But this time, we’ve really outdone ourselves. Reigniting the Conversation In 1996, we had a mission. We saw a growing need for companies to embrace sustainability, and we set out to service this appetite for environmental stewardship. At Evolve, we collaborated with industry leaders like Ford to craft clear messaging for their global environmental policies and designed their groundbreaking conservation awards. We were also at the forefront of innovation, working with several car companies on future fuel projects. Twenty-five years ago, when electric cars were still a novelty, we helped launch the plug-in electric Th!nk, with its body made from recycled plastic bottle tops. This pioneering environmental work opened doors, leading to design commissions from organisations like DEFRA, English Heritage, RHS, and the City of London Open Spaces. However, the environmental focus seems to have dimmed in recent years. Are we all suffering from eco-fatigue, overwhelmed by the constant barrage of information?
