The obligatory Christmas Jumper Day post… 🎄 Just for the record, Aaron assures he wasn’t being bah humbug by showing up today without his festive sweater, he says he was sparing the team the shame of being in a Wolverhampton Wanderers-themed Christmas jumper. 🙈 Apparently, it’s the only one he owns! #MerryChristmas

The weather is warm so it’s that time of year again… Doing conveyancing is the same as attending your kid’s sports day and taking part in some right embarrassing events isn’t it First up the classic egg-and-spoon race – this one is a risk-based approach. On the one hand you have to keep the spoon steady to avoid a nasty mistake and on the other you have to run like the wind because you’ve got clients and agents coming up behind with eggs that are surely glued to their spoons Then the 3-legged race – always a laugh this; your oppo will be running at a different i.e wrong speed to you. One of you will trip up and you’ll blame them of course Tug of war – speaks for itself doesn’t it…oh alright I’ll spell it out – competing interests pulling against each other. Nice eh Sack race – nasty one this, stepping into a manky old sack and then hopping like a lunatic to the finish. I think this may be where the analogy falls (unless you have any suggestions). My advice? Avoid the sack race Parents race – your client is going to want to see you win so they’ll be roaring at you from the finish line, offering words of encouragement like “Hurry up you clapped out old donkey! What’s the delay?” while you’ll pretend to the other parents that it’s no big deal, but actually being ready to exchange first and show off to your client is a matter of life and death to you isn’t it See, exactly the same (apart from that accursed sack race)

World Mental Health Day, October 10th 💙 Years ago, I was diagnosed with anxiety, and it’s been a roller coaster journey since. Despite implementing healthy strategies, I still experience panic attacks and struggle at times. Mental health is a long battle, but it’s crucial to keep pushing forward, talking openly, and using the tools we have to minimize stress. If you’re struggling, know that you’re not alone—I’m always here to talk and offer advice. As a qualified mental health responder, I understand the toll it can take. While we might not always have the right tools, with the right mindset, we can work toward mental stability together. 💪 #MentalHealthMatters #KeepTalking #YouAreNotAlone #AndysMansClub #mentalhealth

My good friend Fraser Maxwell and I have been organising a bike ride called Ride to the Sun (www.ridetothesun.co.uk) for almost 10 years now. What started as a daft idea has grown into one of the UK's biggest cycling events and, for many riders, its most loved. We had no idea it would become so popular, to be honest we’d expected it to be a one off event, so had given no consideration to the brand we were establishing. But after the success of year, 1 when we agreed to make it an annual event, we gave more thought to the brand values we wanted to build and protect – we wanted it to be fun but purpose-led, we wanted to support local communities and businesses, we wanted it to feel inclusive with no fee or fitness level ever being a barrier to entry. The brand, and branding, has evolved over time, but isn't that the case with so many brands? You might not know where the journey will end so you need to be willing to adapt, see what works, what your customers like and make the most of it. Of course you have to be willing to shape the direction but it’s always a “conversation”. Growing the event from nothing to where it is today has been rewarding, interesting and with incredibly few bumps in the road, figuratively and literally! When we get feedback like “It’s the perfect event, please change nothing but promise you’ll keep doing it”, it’s hard to think about doing anything differently, especially when the things we’ve done over the years came from the simple idea of building the event in a way we thought that people would like, not chasing profit or notoriety. However, having been in marketing for so long it becomes instinctual to consider what will matter to the audience. Last year we were interviewed for a Podcast by Simon Willis “Always Another Adventure” and I feel the end result sums up Ride to the Sun pretty well - https://spoti.fi/3xzOK6T (link to podcast). Anyone who fancies cycling 100miles through the night please sign up here - https://lnkd.in/ewykudV7 - there’s free beer at the end and our extensive sampling research tells us that it’s particularly delicious after a long ride and sitting on the beach watching the sunset (thanks Stewart Brewing for your support)

MY 2024 KENTUCKY DERBY GUIDE IS NOW AVAILABLE! I believe this year’s Kentucky Derby guide is the best I’ve ever produced. In these pages, you’ll find: THE FINAL FURLONG – Discover which horses are 0-for-43 based on the final fraction of their last race since 1992 and which have produced a positive ROI. UNDERSTANDING QUIRIN SPEED POINTS – I give you the IVs and ROIs for each of the nine Quirin speed point totals. TURN-ONS AND TURNOFFS – Find out which horses return a profit and which horses practically never win America’s greatest horse race. I LIKE BIG WINS, AND I CANNOT LIE – I examine how impactful a previous "big win" is in the Kentucky Derby. HAPPY BIRTHDAY? – Does a horse's birth month matter? Find out which foaling months produce an inordinate number of Derby winners and which don’t. UNDERSTANDING SPEED FIGURE CYCLES – Discover the speed rating pattern that has produced zero Kentucky Derby winners (from 38 starters) since 1992 and the pattern that has produced a 43.5 percent ROI. KNOW YOUR S.H.I.T. – The top four Simon Historical Investment Technique selections have produced 21 of the last 31 Kentucky Derby winners. A $100 bet on each pick would have returned a profit of $16,990. AI ANALYSIS OF THE KENTUCKY DERBY – I use artificial intelligence to select the top five Kentucky Derby contenders. The results may surprise you! THE CONTENDERS: A CLOSER LOOK – A horse-by-horse look at the Kentucky Derby field.
