While summer calls for floral top notes, in the fall we can lean into the blooms of a fall harvest. These will include notes of apple, pumpkin, sugared berries, and figs. These top notes will drift into warm, nutty notes of cinnamon, cardamom, or clove. Although the typical notes of rose, iris, or jasmine aren’t as popular for fall they can also be snuck in for unexpected pops that make the fragrance even more complex. Finally, we can wrap up our scent with woody, spicy, and earthy notes of, wood, vanilla, amber, caramel, and musk calling comfort back to the forefront as a hearty and sultry base. Experimenting with notes like this can be an exciting way to find a fall fragrance that quickly becomes YOUR signature. Your speech reveals whether you are humble or conceited, easygoing or desperate. Keep that in mind if you’re trying to make a good first impression. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words, so determine the qualities you want to be known for and then cultivate them from the inside out. Yay!! On October 8th my perfume got its new home!! 🎉🤩 So, first off I'm not a woodsy, musky, earthy, piney type of person when it comes to scents I wear. So, I knew I wasn't going to be making the Amber Musk perfume that was one of the recipes in the Simply Earth September box. I already had Patchouli from adding it to a previous order, so I swapped it for Rose Geranium instead. When my box arrived, I immediately opened the perfumers alcohol, and poured it over some Rose Hips & petals that I'd put into a medicine bottle. I let that sit in my linen closet for a week, then added my oils. I honestly didn't do the Top, Middle, Bottom note thing cause I didn't have a Bottom scent that I wanted to use. Using their blend factors I mixed 9 drops Rose Geranium, 6 drops Neroli, 20 drops Bergamot, and 15 drops Helichrysum into the medicine bottle. I then let it sit for two more weeks, and Tuesday was the day I poured it into the perfume bottle.
