Today, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), we are excited to share an inspiring story that underscores the importance of financial service providers gaining a deeper understanding of what “disability” truly means. This article highlights how a high-level insurance executive is leveraging its personal experience to influence one of the world’s largest insurance companies, raising awareness across the entire industry. As this example shows, addressing the needs of PWDs isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do. Disability inclusion benefits everyone, delivering both strong social and financial returns for organizations that embrace inclusivity. To truly advance financial inclusion, we must understand the diverse needs of PWDs, adopt #UniversalDesign principles and ensure #Accessibility, eliminating the attitudinal, informational, physical, and digital barriers faced by PWDs in accessing financial services, including outdated policies and processes. Solutions already exist. It’s a matter of awareness and action. Join us in our mission to make disability inclusion a priority and ensure no one is left behind. 👉 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gEn_9FU9 #DisabilityInclusion #FinancialInclusion #InternationalDayofPersonswithDisabilities #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #UniversalDesign #SocialImpact #PWD #InclusionMatters

Group Vs Individual Disability Protection for corporate executives and professionals I find that most individuals are not aware of the main difference when it comes to an important protection planning The reality today is that anyone can have a situation that may limit their ability to work, be it young or old. One mistake most people make is thinking “I am too young or too healthy” and this is not going to happen to me But we all know life happens So here’s an important advice The solution to this issue is to get some sort of critical illness and disability coverage, so that your family and income is protected in an event something leads to your inability to work There are two ways to go about this 1.Group plan - provided by companies 2.Individual plan - you need to plan for this It is great to have your company have a group plan BUT we know that losing a job is more likely than you being not able to work, so you want to put an individual plan in place as well So just rely on “Group Plans” thinking you are fully protected, because you are not.
