European aviation network traffic finally reach and tick above pre-pandemic levels!
All top 10 #airports are handling more flights ✈️ than last year, our latest #EuropeanAviationOutlook shows, with increases ranging from ⬆️1% (iGA Istanbul/Paris CDG to ↗️24% (Rome Fiumicino). And half of the top 10 airports in the European aviation network are currently handling traffic similar to or above pre-pandemic 2019 levels. BizJet Activity Overview - Week 26 (24th – 30th June) Overall The first half of 2024 shows bizjet utilisation tapering slightly on 2023 but still well up on 2019: - US market is just -1% weaker vs 2023 - European bizjet demand is strengthening this summer, notably in Germany🇩🇪 - Middle East is seeing weaker bizjet usage this year, especially in Saudi Europe 🇪🇺 - Week 26 European bizjet activity -2% compared to Week 26 in 2023, the last 4-week trend 3% down compared to last year - Germany’s🇩🇪 UEFA EURO boost continues, activity in Week 26 being lifted +6% compared to last year - In contrast, UK🇬🇧 and France🇫🇷 recorded declines compared to last year, sectors down 2% and 8% respectively At the halfway point this year France🇫🇷 is the busiest European bizjet market, although departures dropped 3% compared to last year. Italy🇮🇹 and Spain🇪🇸 buck the regional trend, 3% and 5% year on year growth respectively. Air Astana launching new Frankfurt flights Air Astana is launching new three times a week Frankfurt flights from Almaty from 1 June 2025. Tickets are now on sale for the route which will be flown on Airbus A321LR aircraft. The new service complements existing Frankfurt flights from capital Astana and Uralsk in western Kazakhstan. Air Astana first launched direct flights to Germany more than 20 years ago. Flights timings are convenient for both point-to-point and transit passengers, with the flight from Almaty departing at 01:30 and arriving in Frankfurt at 06:55 and the return flight departing at 08:30 and arriving back in Almaty at 18:55. Round-trip economy class fare starts at US$550 all-in. Air Astana Group is the largest airline group in Central Asia and the Caucasus regions by revenue and fleet size. The Air Astana and FlyArystan low-cost brand operate a combined fleet of 57 aircraft.
