Captives are a solution to the lack of innovation. Martin South, president and chief executive officer, Marsh, was being interview by Penny Randall Seach, group chief underwriting officer, Zurich Insurance Company in a Global CEO fireside discussion at AIRMIC called ‘Global forces driving change: a future outlook.’ Because the industry is not offering products that address clients’ needs as risks evolve, “some $25 billion of Marsh clients’ premium is now being retained using this form of risk transfer.“ In other news, insurer AXA is reorganizing US operations. Layoffs are expected. Meanwhile, Steel City Re has on offer a remarkably innovative original outcome-based solution to the most complex risk of all. It is a solution insureds have wanted since 2005, and it is backed today by Tokio Marine Kiln. #reputation #risk #resilience #letriskmanagersmanagerisk Martin South Penny Randall Seach Wyn Jenkins Newton Media Group Marsh Zurich Insurance Zurich North America AXA XL #captiveinsurance #insurancecaptives #innovation Tokio Marine Group

Insurity is thrilled to honor Marsh as the Digital Experience Champion at this year’s Excellence in Insurance conference! #BermudaRiskSummit Hello LinkedIn community, I recently had the privilege of attending the Bermuda Risk Summit held at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Bermuda. Joined by Steve Reid, Global Leader, Broking at DXC Technology, the summit was an excellent opportunity to gain insights, hold discussions, and learn about exciting prospects for the future of the insurance industry, particularly in Bermuda. One of the key highlights of the summit was the momentum behind the London market digital transformation, specifically the Blueprint Two programme. As Head of Business Development at Velonetic, I couldn't help but feel the anticipation for the impact this transformation will have not only in London but also in related markets like Bermuda. With delivery gathering pace, we're eagerly anticipating the ripple effects in Bermuda's insurance landscape. Our discussions revolved around how Velonetic and DXC Technology can extend our services to Bermuda, be it through traditional manual processing standards we have been managing in the London market for over 22 years or the digital services scheduled for go-live in London. The Bermuda insurance market, known for its expertise in reinsurance, particularly in excess & surplus lines and captive business, presents a unique opportunity for us to offer our expertise and solutions. The recent trend of new reinsurers opening in Bermuda is due to favourable local laws, allowing businesses that work with US insurance clients to operate under a streamlined set of regulatory requirements. However, one notable gap in the Bermuda market is the absence of a central bureau or premium & claims settlement service, presenting an opportunity for innovative solutions and streamlined processes.
