Should US DoD vehicle operators similarly have required #simulator hours in #training devices in order to operate their wheeled or tracked platforms? Marty Kauchak reports from I/ITSEC 2024, currently being held in Orlando, Florida.

2wMarty Unfortunately, I wasn't present for that event. Had I been there, I could have been the one who asked that question. No, tactical wheeled vehicles aren't fighter jets, but they are challenging to drive, full of technical gear, and contain significant military technology. Drivers should have mandatory simulator hours for driver training and building muscle memory to resolve faults and vehicle operations. Simulator goals should be tied directly to the vehicle's performance objectives. The more hours drivers spend in the simulator, the better their skills will become!
