This May, I am proud to be participating in the 2024 Magic Ride, a 500km cycling challenge through the Hunter Valley, to support Feel the Magic, a charity dedicated to providing grief education to children who have experienced profound loss.
As a team sponsor (Jay Anderson Property), our goal is to raise $15,000 – that's $30 for every kilometre of the ride.

Imagine the pain of losing someone dear to you at a young age. Sadly, this is the reality for 1 in every 20 children aged 7-17, and over 300,000 children in Australia will experience the loss of a parent before they turn 18.
The impact of losing a parent at a young age leaves a lasting imprint on a child's life, leaving behind scars that may never fully heal. Research reveals the devastating toll it takes, showing how it disrupts not only their present but also their future. From strained relationships to academic struggles and occupational challenges, the repercussions are far-reaching. Tragically, this pain often leads to harmful coping mechanisms, mental health issues, substance abuse, and an increased risk of suicide. The ripple effects are profound, shaping their journey long after the initial loss.
This is where Feel the Magic steps in to provide these children and their families with the support they need to find solace, strength, and the opportunity to embark on a path toward healing.
Feel the Magic’s work is crucial, and the need is great. By supporting this cause, we can together help shape a better future for these children.
