It was my pleasure to join CILT (UK) - the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport at their annual conference last week. As you can imagine there was lots of rich content on sustainability, and building efficiencies across the supply chain. I discussed the key trends when it comes to security with a focus on: ▶️ Cybercrime ▶️ Nation state actors ▶️ Attacks on critical infrastructure ▶️ Amplification of AI ▶️ Insider threat I took a poll ahead of the presentation on what is top of mind today, which was attacks on critical infrastructure, including targeted DDOS attacks I ran the same poll again at the end, and the emphasis had changed slightly to insider threat. Especially when considered against advanced social engineering, sabotage and fraud. The good news is the level of sharing and collaboration happening across the industry, to address some of these issues.

One of the key topics defining the COO Agenda for 2024 is the imperative to "Build trust in technology." With 79% of companies globally ramping up their cyber budgets this year, ensuring trust in data from technology solutions is paramount. Strengthening trust commences with reliable vendor partnerships that enhance procurement, supply chain risk management, and cost control. Upholding data governance is crucial for operational resilience and compliance amid the surge in US and global regulations. Moreover, prioritizing the mitigation of risks from third-party entities in the supply chain is essential. Shockingly, only a third of executives view enhancing resilience as a primary goal when investing in supply chain technology. Matheen Sait says it best right at the start: #supplychain #disruptions have become the rule, not the exception. Boards know it, and they are willing to pay big for disruption #mitigation. But what if supply chain resilience wasn’t the goal? What if it was just a step towards something even better? In my view, companies need to go beyond resilience to remain competitive. It’s not just about weathering disruptions. It’s about capitalizing on them. Turning a negative into a positive. An issue into an opportunity. I’m speaking about #antifragility. In a world where everyone is fighting to remain flexible and avoid delays, antifragility gives companies the competitive edge. Reaching this level of resilience isn’t easy – it represents one of the most advanced levels in true, comprehensive global supply chain management. The good news is, with the right tools, antifragility is more reachable than ever. It’s not about throwing huge budgets towards supply chain visibility, extensive supplier networks, and expensive backup plans. It’s about using #data #better. Your data Suppliers' data Market data Everyone has access to it already. You just have to know how to tie it all together. https://lnkd.in/dNqQdW5f
