Connect with people where they are, not where you want them to be. Talking about the process more than showing the result will lead to you being a guide to more people and create a deeper connection. 💜👊

A few years ago, I started a role that pushed me outside of my professional knowledge comfort zone. I set up a few coffee chats with professionals in a similar role at different organizations, and the knowledge I gained felt like a conference for a fraction of the time and money. Excitement replaced apprehension. When you choose to take on a new challenge, you're not alone. Dip into your network with curiousity and kindness. Who in your network has that bent toward empowerment? All it takes is one connection who can start the web of connections for you. When your first coffee chat happens, be prepared. 𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀: Ask questions that show you're genuinelly interested in the other person'as experiences and insights. 𝗕𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹: Have a clear idea of what you'd like to learn or discuss, but also be open to where the conversation might naturally flow. 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗽: After the chat, send a thank-you note. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲: Be ready to share your own knowledge and experiences during the chat. And, when someone reaches out to you down the road, be ready to help them like you've been helped in the past. Don't know where to start with the actual conversation? Check out this list of go-to questions: https://lnkd.in/eTbgxdvF.

The first 5 Seconds of a Call Could Be Tough But with the right strategy, it works! 1. Tonality is Everything People decide whether to listen or tune out in seconds. Confident Positive Friendly This changes the game. It’s not about what you say, but how you say it. 2. Starting the Call Go in with a simple opener: “How are you doing today?” or “Did I catch you at a bad time?” A name + your company name = instant credibility. 3. Ask for Help Here’s the magic line: "I’m a little lost - Do you mind if I take a sec to tell you why I’m calling?” 4. Get Straight to the Point Share who you are, what you do, and why you’re calling— without pressure if it’s not a good fit. A clear purpose builds trust and keeps things moving.

That voice of self-doubt can get quite loud, right? If you’re a seasoned tapper, do a few rounds. If you’re new to tapping, tap under your arm and say “I embrace my worth and value.” Repeat a few times. Want me to do a demo? Let me know via comment or DM. Share this post as you never know who needs to quieten the voice of self-doubt.
