Marketers— How do we feel about Metadata auto-registering people to their Demand event? I got an email confirmation thanking me for registering...for an event I indeed did not register for. I went to my email to check, and found an email from them that read: "We're back. Bigger, better, and 100% virtual. Our annual DEMAND event is around the corner! To make sure you get in on all the action, we've saved your spot at DEMAND 2024." My first instinct was: Absolutely not. My second instinct was: Did I somehow sign up for this and I don't remember? Did i ask them to auto-register me? Surely in 2024 no one thinks it's permissible to just register people for events they don't raise their hand for... So, now I'm here—still a bit confused. I can't be the only one?
