This past May, a heartbreaking incident in Arizona highlighted the critical need for enhanced pool safety measures. A father found his three-year-old twin girls drowned in their backyard swimming pool, despite the family's brave attempts at CPR. Tragically, the twins were pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Accidental drownings like this one are devastating and often preventable. As we reflect on this tragedy, it's essential to emphasize the importance of pool alarms (Lifebuoy Pool Alarms) and safety fences. These measures can serve as vital lines of defense, providing parents and guardians with additional time to react in emergencies. Investing in pool safety equipment is not just a precaution—it's a commitment to safeguarding our loved ones. Let's spread awareness and encourage the adoption of pool safety measures in our communities. #poolalarm #lifebuoypoolalarms #swimmingpool #poolsafetyawareness #pool #swimmingpool #watertechnology #watersafety #poolfence

This Water Safety Month, the Haines City Fire Department encourages everyone to adopt the National Drowning Prevention Alliance's layers of protection. These critical measures are designed to enhance safety and prevent drowning around water: 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀: Ensure your pool is surrounded by fencing with self-closing and self-latching gates. Alarms on gates, doors, and windows can alert you if someone accesses the pool area unexpectedly. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Maintain active, focused adult supervision at all times when children are in or near water. 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Promote swimming skills and water safety education among all family members and ensure everyone knows how to swim well. 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀: Equip all inexperienced swimmers and guests with life jackets when swimming in pools or natural bodies of water. 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Familiarize yourself with basic water rescue techniques and ensure that life-saving devices such as life rings and a first aid kit are accessible near your swimming area. Implementing these layers of protection can make a significant difference in maintaining a safe water environment. Let’s take the steps needed to ensure our community enjoys a safe and fun Water Safety Month! Life rings save lives! There are currently eleven life rings floating in Anton Lake which we are unable to retrieve as the water is boggy and dangerous. If we can’t send staff in to collect these, imagine what could happen if someone fell in and they were not available as flotation aids. The lakes aren’t for swimming or paddling, but accidents happen and life rings are there for anyone needing urgent, lifesaving help. Having a flotation device vastly improves someone’s chances of survival and this equipment really can be the difference between life and death. Please leave life rings in their holders unless it is an emergency. #WaterSafety #FlotationAid #WaterSafetyAwareness #DrowningPrevention #LifeRing #WaterRescue #SafetyFirst #AccidentPrevention #Respectthewater

Swimming in Mobile Bay and the creeks and rivers that feed it used to be how Coastal Alabamians cooled off easiest during the summer. Nowadays, you don’t find many people confident enough in the Bay’s water quality to let their children cool off with a quick dip, especially after it rains. Enjoying our waterways and making memories, especially during the summer, is critical to becoming stewards of our environment and staying connected to our water. It’s why Mobile Baykeeper launched our Swim Where It’s Monitored (SWIM) Program to provide residents and visitors with up-to-date information on bacteria levels from nearly 40 sites around Coastal Alabama. This data is compiled to paint a broader picture of water quality in the Bay, while also helping us pinpoint problem areas so we can collaborate with local governments and utilities for reinvestment in our infrastructure. Thanks to these updates in our sewer systems, we estimate that over 11 million gallons of sewage have been prevented from entering our waters each year. You can support these efforts to monitor sewage spills and address their causes by becoming a baykeeper at https://lnkd.in/dd4PqXkW.

Some important tips to keep in mind: *Life jackets save lives *Know the local regulations on speed limits and no wake zones *Avoid alcohol *Keep an eye on the weather forecast *Watch for other boats, swimmers, and obstacles in the water *Have emergency supplies on board Let’s make this summer on the water memorable – but if you find yourself injured at the hands of other reckless boaters, know that Aloia Roland is here to help. https://lnkd.in/gfD9Dnm8 #LawDefined #AloiaRoland #BoatingSafety
