🚀Exploring Embedded Systems: My Latest Project on External Interrupts with PIC Microcontrollers 🚀 I’m thrilled to share my recent project where I dove into the world of embedded systems and microcontroller programming! 🎉 In this project, I utilized a PIC microcontroller to handle external interrupts, creating a dynamic LED blink pattern on PORTD and a simple blinking LED on PORTC. Here’s a snapshot of what I accomplished: 🔧 Key Features: 🗯 External Interrupt Handling: Configured the microcontroller to respond to external interrupts with a visual indication through PORTD LED blinks. 🗯LED Blinking Patterns: Implemented a blinking pattern for PORTD and PORTC LEDs to demonstrate the interrupt functionality and basic GPIO operations. Configuration: Utilized MPLAB X and Proteus for simulation and debugging, with precise microcontroller configuration including HS oscillator and interrupt settings. 🛠 Technical Highlights: Interrupt Service Routine (ISR): Designed an ISR to handle external interrupts and control LED blinks on PORTD. GPIO Control: Managed PORTD and PORTC for LED output with an effective blinking pattern in both the main loop and ISR. 💡 Learning Outcomes: Gained practical experience with external interrupts and embedded system programming. Thrilled to unveil a recent project achievement! I've just completed the development and testing of a UART receiver driver for the STM32F4 microcontroller, aimed at controlling the LD2 LED. This driver enables seamless communication between a computer and the microcontroller via UART, with the specific goal of toggling the LD2 LED based on incoming UART data. Upon receiving the character '1', the LD2 LED illuminates, while any other character received extinguishes it. Leveraging direct register addressing and real-time monitoring through PuTTY, this project demonstrates a practical application of UART communication in embedded systems. Let's dive into the details of how this driver facilitates efficient LED control via UART reception. I initialized the GPIO configuration by enabling clock access to GPIO Port A using the RCC_AHB1ENR register. Then, I set the PA3 pin mode to alternate function, designating it as the UART receive pin (UART_RX), by configuring the GPIO_MODER register and the GPIOA_AFRL register accordingly. Additionally, I configured PA5 as an output pin to control the LD2 LED by adjusting the GPIOA_MODER register. In the main function, I implemented a continuous loop to monitor UART reception and control the LD2 LED based on the received data. Upon receiving data via UART, the uart2_read function was called to read the character from the USART2_DR register. A while loop in this function ensured that the receive data register (USART2_SR) was not empty before proceeding to read the data. The received character was then stored in the 'key' variable. If the character '1' was received, PA5 was set high to illuminate the LD2 LED; otherwise, PA5 was set low to extinguish the LED. Furthermore, I configured the transfer direction as receive by setting the RE bit in the USART2_CR1 register. The baud rate was set using the USART2_BRR register, and finally, the UART module was enabled by setting the UE bit in the USART2_CR1 register. These configurations ensured the proper functioning of UART communication and LED control on the STM32F4 microcontroller. This project has significantly enhanced my skills in embedded systems development, C programming, and hardware-software integration. 🚗💡 Introducing the Mini Car Project! 💡🚗 I’m thrilled to share my latest project, a Mini Car designed and implemented using VHDL on the DE10-Lite FPGA board. This project is a great example of combining FPGA programming with real-world applications to create intelligent systems. 🌟 Key Features: 1️⃣ Directional Control: The car moves forward, backward, left, and right using button inputs. 2️⃣ Lane Detection System: Equipped with sensors to monitor the car’s position within the lane. 3️⃣ Real-Time Alerts: If the car strays out of the lane, an "ALERT" is displayed on the screen, which disappears when it returns to the lane. 4️⃣ Development Tools: Built using Quartus Prime and thoroughly tested with a ModelSim testbench for functional verification. 🎥 Watch the video demo below! 💡 Exploring Embedded Systems: LED Blinking Project with LPC2129 Excited to share my latest hands-on project using the Vector Board featuring the LPC2129 microcontroller! 🎉 I implemented an 8 LED blinking system, which might seem simple but is a foundational step in embedded systems. This project gave me valuable hands-on experience with microcontroller programming and hardware interfacing. Here’s what I worked on: • 🖥️ Keil IDE: Used for writing, compiling, and debugging the code effectively. • 🛠️ C Programming: Wrote a program to control 8 LEDs connected to the GPIO pins of the LPC2129. • 📂 Flash Memory: Stored the program on the microcontroller’s flash for execution. • ⏱️ Timing Control: Created precise delays using timer registers to synchronize the blinking pattern of the LEDs. • 🔄 Blinking Patterns: Programmed various LED patterns, including all LEDs blinking together, alternate blinking, and sequential patterns (like a running light effect). • ⚡ Hardware Setup: Connected 8 LEDs to GPIO pins with appropriate current-limiting resistors, ensuring safe operation within voltage and current limits. • 🔌 GPIO Pin Configuration: Configured the microcontroller’s GPIO pins as output and controlled their states programmatically.
