A very interesting way to look at 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 and 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉 ... In my first year of undergraduate studies, driven by sheer curiosity and amidst all the buzz about Python being the "language of the era", I decided to learn it on my own - well ahead of its formal introduction in our curriculum in the third year. This was just an attempt to add a new programming language to my skillset. Here's where it gets interesting: Understanding the programming language was just scratching the surface. I now knew how to use a tool but more critically did 𝐍𝐎𝐓 know 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 and 𝒘𝒉𝒚 to apply it? 🛠 God bless my mentor Dr. Chintan Bhatt, who thought I could do something more than just academics, who thought I had some potential, and who took a bet on me, in the faith that I deserved to achieve something beyond the merits of a regular curriculum! With no prior experience, this was my first opportunity to get involved in research work. My first experiments were implemented in Python, later evolving into Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and frequent interactions with many more research papers. 📚 Fast forward to my graduate studies, I now read and review at least 4 research papers every month. It has now become a habit and has helped me sharpen my brain's acumen, enabling me to read papers quickly and efficiently while identifying important insights. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭! 🙏🏻 No doubt I worked hard, but looking back, I am only grateful to such mentors who watched out for me and took that chance to believe in me. Together, we reached the end of this trail, rewarded with the mesmerizing view of landscapes filled with various Concepts and Algorithms. This trail has uncovered hidden treasures of knowledge and understanding for us. This journey, guided by Professor Siddhartha Nath, has equipped us all to navigate the success path in our academic and professional careers. 🌄🌳🔍 As a TA, it's been an honor to support and empower our students on this adventure trail, offering guidance, assistance, and encouragement along the way.
