Reputable #anti-virus or anti-malware software can help to detect the presence of Akira or other #ransomware variants, the authorities said. "This can be done through real-time monitoring of system processes, network traffic, and file activity for indicators of compromise typically associated with the #malware." The software can be configured to block the execution of suspicious files, prevent unauthorised remote connections, and restrict access to sensitive files and folders. #cybersecurity #cyberprotection

HUGE WIN!!! We identified a brand new unknown ransomware group nicknamed Volcano Demo. The problem: This new ransomware group ran a bit differently than prior ransomware double extortion tactics. The group exfiltrated the data to their own C2 servers and encrypted this data there. The attackers were able to do this and clear logs before exploitation, making comprehensive forensic evaluation nearly impossible. The solution: Halcyon's DXP (data exfiltration protection) and Ransomware prevention can stop this; and many other Ransomware issues that have percolated across the industry. Giving Halcyon true prevention of Ransomware and NOW protection from double extortion tactics like this new variant we identified. Defense in depth is needed; layering security provides necessary protection to prevent, protect, and empower your business for the new RaaS Group scenarios. #raas #ransomware #extortion https://lnkd.in/e6anjae9
