@erik-anderson-601a8591/, Patient Care Executive at Adventist Health, says from the moment he joined the organization he knew it felt different. He said he felt the sense of Aloha. Treating patients and employees like Ohana - or family - is in their DNA. Erik told us that like with any family, there needs to be trust, transparency, and sometimes even tough love for accountability, which is a two-way street. The team at Adventist Health Castle listens to the community and deeply values that feedback when choosing how to best serve their patients and teams. Their holistic approach includes community-centered events like Christmas tree lightings, speaking to students, and other ways that encourage the community to become a partner in their healthcare. Their commitment to clinical excellence combined with their “Love Matters” campaign lead them to a Baldrige Award win in 2017. To hear more about this remarkable organization, and learn more about how they teach empathy, value vulnerability, and “measure what they treasure”, check out the full interview with Erik: https://lnkd.in/eJe7qwmM Learn more about Adventist Health Castle: https://lnkd.in/e4FzbHVB Topical time codes: 00:43 - Feeling the Aloha 1:51 - Culture within the organization, Ohana 3:55 - Teaching empathy 7:04 - Love Matters campaign and Baldrige Award win 8:30 - How to connect with the community 11:28 - Community engagement 16:15 - Trust, transparency, and tough love 18:52 - Gratitude as part of Love Matters #healthcare #CompassionateCare #communityengagement #particpatorymedicine #aloha #ohana

It's rare I watch or listen to a podcast and am inspired. Remembering the word, "inspire" comes from the root, "in spirit", we can say my inspiration has its roots in love, which is exactly what this podcast speaks to: Love as a guiding principle in the leadership, management, and delivery of excellent healthcare. Apurv Gupta, MD, MPH, Stephanie Feals and guest, Erik Anderson of Adventist Health Castle go deep into the practical application of love in creating the excellence in healthcare delivery that wins a National Baldrige Award. But it's so much more than winning this prestigious award. It's about the love that brings together leadership, staff, patients, families and community. Together we're better, yes? The powerful principles that are the foundation of a great organization must now include love. For Adventist Health Castle: Love Matters. For Dr. Gupta and Premier Inc.: A Loving Organization. For 3DHealthcare: Loving Systems. I so love and respect the many kindred spirits who are working so hard to make healthcare better. Having said that, isn't it time, as the song says, to give love a chance. If not now, when? If not us, who? #ALovingOrganization #LoveMatters #3DLovingSystems #3DHealthcare

Less than 1 month left to register! Do you want to empower your hospice to deliver exceptional care through the power of research? The final date to register for our #EstablishingResearchInYourHospice Conference is Friday 4 October. We know that other hospices across the country are just as passionate as we are about making a real difference in palliative care through research, but face challenges to translate research into impactful action. An estimated 63-82% of people will need palliative care but only 25% of hospices are currently research active. Here's why your hospice can't afford to miss this: 🔍Measure Your Impact: Research allows you to quantify the positive difference you make, attracting donors, grants, and strengthening your case for continued support. ⭐Attract Top Talent: A research-driven environment fosters a culture of innovation and excellence, making your hospice a magnet for the best staff. 🔝Sustainable Success: By participating in research, your hospice stays at the forefront of evidence-based care, ensuring long-term sustainability and exceptional patient care. Research matters. Will your hospice take the next step? Join us on 18 October 2024 in Sheffield. Register today at www.research-matters.org and take the next step towards a research-driven future. This just happened... 🌟 A Heartwarming Token of Appreciation at EmeritusDX 🌟 Today, amidst the hustle and bustle at EmeritusDX, we were graced with something truly special - a heartfelt note from one of our patients. It wasn't a formal review or a scheduled feedback session, but a simple, personal message that deeply touched us: "May God Bless You in what you're doing to help people! Hope you have a great day! :-)" In the dynamic world of healthcare, where each day is filled with challenges and opportunities to impact lives, such expressions of gratitude resonate deeply with us. This note is more than just a few kind words; it's a powerful reminder of the difference we strive to make in the lives of those we serve. It affirms the value of compassion and the human touch that are the cornerstones of our practice at EmeritusDX. To the patient who blessed us with these words: Your gesture has deeply moved us and reignited our commitment to providing care that truly makes a difference. We are immensely grateful for your kind words and blessings. It's moments like these that underscore the importance and impact of our work. To our incredible team at EmeritusDX: This note is a reflection of your unwavering commitment, empathy, and hard work. Each one of you is crucial in creating the positive experiences that our patients remember and appreciate. And to our wider community: Your continued trust, support, and feedback are what fuel our mission. Together, let's keep fostering a supportive environment, making every day a beacon of hope and positivity. Together, We Save Lives. At EmeritusDX, this phrase encapsulates our collective mission and the spirit with which we approach every challenge and opportunity. It's a commitment that we live out through each interaction, decision, and life we touch. #EmeritusDX #HealthcareHeroes #PatientCare #Gratitude #CommunityLove #Healthcare #TogetherWeSaveLives #Appreciation

The infographic from the American Hospital Association included in this article captures the singular role that community hospitals play in the regions they serve. But even in the face of these powerful statistics, there is no way to fully articulate just how great their impact is on the happiness of the people who receive care, but also everyone who knows – and all too often takes for granted – the fact that exceptional care is available. The peace of mind that community hospitals provide cannot be overstated. This is one of the many reasons I believe it is so important that we embrace #valuebasedcare that rewards community hospitals for what they naturally strive to achieve – to help entire communities gain greater health. Proving a system designed with broad equity in mind, spanning lingual, economic, and technical gaps, can help Hospitals better deliver on both their ethical and operational goals. This is a great discussion on what that looks like with Chief Digital Officer Omkar Kulkarni, MPH from Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
Vital.io's SVP of Client Success, Joe Sedlak MBA, RN BSN shares takeaways from his presentation at The Beryl Institute's #ELEVATEPX conference featuring Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Learn about CHLA's early successes with Vital (78%+ of patients and families used ERAdvisor!) in this blog: https://vital.ac/43UTYqc A special thank you to Kiyana Turner and Omkar Kulkarni, MPH for their session with us! #TheBerylInstitute #DigitalHealth #Innovation #CHLA #Vital #ELEVATEPX
