The discussion we had during the panel highlighted how real estate valuation is evolving, especially with the integration of AI and Automated Valuation Models (AVMs). As we look towards the 50th anniversary of PRODEXPO, I believe the trends in real estate will continue to lean towards more data-driven and scientific approaches. AI and AVMs will likely dominate the valuation landscape, offering rapid, data-rich insights into property values. However, there will always be a need for human expertise to interpret the data, contextualize it with real-world variables, and offer strategic advice to clients. While technology will take on more of the heavy lifting, especially for mass valuations, the role of the valuer will still be indispensable for bespoke, complex cases. There will still be an "art" in understanding local market nuances, unique property characteristics, and the individual needs of clients—areas where AI may not yet fully replicate human judgment. So, while AI will enhance accuracy and efficiency, there will always be room for the "art" of valuation to play a critical role in advising clients on market movements, risks, and opportunities.
