Working in two divisions of RDA, Highway Design and IT simultaneously, has given me deeper insights into the communication gap that exists among different fields of the industry. Bridging the gap between IT and other fields would be the key to exploit and appreciate the benefits of 4th industrial revolution. This task requires professionals of other engineering fields obtaining an appreciable know how of the IT and allied sciences, their capabilities and limitations. Since many young engineers and students are connected to me through this forum, my advice as a practicing professional is to develop an interest on the IT and its allied sciences. You will be working in a world dominated by IT in the future.

SRU is adding two new degree programs to its current suite of four engineering programs accredited by the globally recognized Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Starting in fall 2025, students at SRU can begin building their future with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering and a Bachelor of Science in construction management. How can large-scale diagrams—typically printed on A1 paper—be effectively visualized on a tablet? 📱💡 This challenge is prevalent across industries such as chemical processing, construction, and electrical engineering. An intriguing question to consider is whether users would embrace world-anchored AR versions of these diagrams instead of the familiar zoom-and-pinch gestures.
