This is why I spend time at the front end of a project getting to know the clients I work with and what their vision is. Gathering inspiration images and pulling out what’s already in their head at the front end so we both feel confident in the first designs. Sometimes, it’s a hit on the vision but not exactly what feels right. That’s why we always include three design directions and two additional revisions after initial feedback on what I design. More often than not, it’s all minor revisions. But sometimes, even the client can’t read their boss’ mind.
