I can't wait to see more posts about Build Submarines "Built to Last" campaign and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness about the incredible opportunities in maritime manufacturing. It's time to debunk some outdated perceptions about the industry I work in at Granite State Manufacturing ; specifically building US Navy ships & submarines. Firstly, the belief that skilled trades and manufacturing jobs offer low pay is untrue. These positions offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits. Secondly, there's a misconception that there are limited career growth opportunities. In reality, the industry is full of pathways for advancement and professional development. And lastly, it's time to break the stereotype that these fields are predominantly male-dominated. Women are making significant strides and contributions in skilled trades and manufacturing every day. Let's change the narrative and highlight the rewarding and diverse opportunities in maritime manufacturing. #buildsubmarines #GSMManchester #GSMNashua
We're excited to announce Built to Last, our new integrated campaign designed to raise awareness around career opportunities within maritime manufacturing. The campaign challenges outdated perceptions of what it means to work in maritime manufacturing by showcasing the cutting-edge technology, competitive pay and meaningful contributions employees can make by choosing a career that’s Built to Last.

Flight delays and cancellations couldn't stop me from attending Black Tech Week 2024. An unexpected tornado in the Chicago metro area was responsible for cancellation of my final flight leg to Cincinnati, OH from Tulsa, OK. Within 30 mins of this notice, I was able to modify my existing rental car reservation, leave the airline terminal en route for the rental car complex, check in with the attendant for my car, and plan my route from the comfort of my spacious vehicle. 🗣 Shoutout Hertz for the amazing customer service and flexibility. ✨ My responsiveness and quick actions made it possible for my colleagues from my canceled flight to join me instead of waiting (18) hours in the airport for the rebooked itinerary from Chicago ---> St. Louis ---> Baltimore ---> Cincy. They were my sleeping passengers as I safely drove the 5 hours through 4 states (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio) and sang every song on ALL of my recent playlists!! This experience further affirmed some valuable lessons: 🚘 Overcoming adversity is a key to success. 🚘 Never give up - no matter the obstacles. 🚘 Determination can take you far, literally and figuratively. With limited sleep and rest, I still made it to Ohio on time for opening ceremonies and Day 1 full of meetings, experiences, insights, and conversations that would benefit and support me and ORGANIZELY. So, what's your go-to strategy when faced with unexpected challenges? #Resilience #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #LearnDifferentlywithOrganizely

No smiley balloons or airplanes with this announcement--instead, my latest job transition has left me quite simply humbled. It was an unexpected journey, and I have so many of you to thank for laying that yellow-brick road before me. Impossible to name all of you in this post, you know who you are--you who in any small way gave of your time and talents on my behalf--and I will honor and seek to repay you in every which way that I can. That Emerald City I've arrived at wears the colors of blue and red as I start my next chapter with Republic Services. However, I need to thank in particular Insight Global and the DERS team at the Arizona Department of Economic Security for placing their trust in me to bring me onto their team for what could only be a short time; and for being ever so understanding when I had to make a difficult career decision. You are all amazing and I'm ever indebted to you! As we enter 2025, let me leave all of you with this thought--because I want more of my colleagues and friends who are CEOs, CIOs, and senior leaders across industries in this shared world of ours to join with me in prioritizing the most important thing we can with AI--even when profits don't justify it, it's time that we go beyond our past record of minimally meeting ADA requirements. As a people, as neighbors, and as humanity, it's our duty to prioritize using AI to assist those among us with who will need it most. You can read more about what I mean and what I have experienced in my previous post linked below. Let's make 2025 beautiful for all of us, together! -Q https://lnkd.in/gjkkfmxp

🇺🇸 What better way to honor Veterans Day than being on the ground in Detroit, working to create the manufacturing opportunities our service members and communities deserve? Proud to be consulting with and getting connected with Michigan's powerhouse organizations that are reshaping the manufacturing landscape: • The GEM (Global Epicenter of Mobility) Initiative • Focus: HOPE • SEMCA Michigan Works! • Detroit Future City • Life Remodeled We're not just talking about change - we're maximizing federal investments from the Good Jobs Challenge and Build Back Better Regional Challenge to create REAL pathways in manufacturing. Working closely with these organizations to help facilitate and optimize their funding for maximum community impact. And stay tuned... some exciting developments brewing with JARC Training 's proven workforce training model possibly expanding to the Motor City! 👀 To our veterans: Your service taught us about excellence, dedication, and getting the job done. Now we're applying those same principles to build the next chapter of American manufacturing. The skills gap? We're closing it. The opportunities? We're creating them. The future? We're building it right here in Detroit. This is what The New American Manufacturing Renaissance looks like - connecting federal resources, community organizations, and industry leaders to create pathways that WORK. 💯 #VeteransDay #ManufacturingRenaissance #WorkforceDevelopment #Detroit #BlueCollarBaller #NAMR #SkillsGap #Mobility #Manufacturing

#Succession is such a challenge. In just the last few weeks, such high profile companies as Boeing, Starbucks and Victoria’s Secret have announced changes. That Savills North America CEO David Lipson and team are thriving and will be here for the long term should not be taken for granted. Boeing’s new CEO has some admirable characteristics that enhance his chance of success: 1. a good listener (#CEO=CLO(Chief Listening Officer);2.creates safe environment so people speak up;3. walks the floors and visits offices;4. seeks out up and comers; and 5. knows how to enjoy himself. As you noted, “everyone wants (Boeing) to succeed and with the new CEO at the helm there is a good chance of success.

As we're moving towards autumn, people are planning how they're going to move through winter, with its various perils, and into 2025. For CxOs though, especially Chief Technical and Product officers. This can be like setting out to cross an ocean with a boiler fire rumbling below decks. There are things that can be done about it, but it's no good if the people onboard are squabbling about who is right, what should be done, or where the actual fire is. For goodness sake, we're underway, we need to sort it. If there is something on your portfolio that would benefit from a little clarity of thought. Some objective reasoning, and a little less haste, but more speed. Now is the time to ask. Not the week before Christmas. btw, The boiler fire in the picture is from when I was lucky enough to get a footplate ride on Sir Nigel Gresley, last year. In case you're interested :-)
