Unveiling the Sentinel: Your Furnace's Temperature Limit Switch A temperature limit switch in a furnace is a crucial safety and control component designed to monitor and regulate the temperature within the heating system. This switch is typically a small, disk-shaped device strategically placed within the furnace or heating appliance. Here's how it works: Temperature Monitoring: The temperature limit switch constantly monitors the furnace's temperature. It is set to a specific temperature threshold, and its primary function is to ensure that the furnace does not exceed safe operating temperatures. Safety Mechanism: If the furnace's temperature rises above the predetermined limit, the temperature limit switch is activated. This serves as a safety mechanism to prevent the furnace from becoming too hot, which could lead to overheating and potential damage. In this case: The limit was malfunctioning and shutting down the furnace even when the temperature was acceptable. So we replaced the limit switch. f you have questions, contact Doc J at 918-921-4240. #HVACFix #HeatingSystemInsight #HomeMaintenance #furnace

🔍 How Old is Your Water Heater? It Might Be Time for a Replacement! 💧 Did you know the average lifespan of a traditional tank water heater is about 8-12 years? Knowing the age of your water heater can help you plan for a replacement before it fails unexpectedly. Here’s How to Identify the Age: 1️⃣ Check the Label: Look for the manufacturer’s label on the side of the tank. The serial number often contains the date of manufacture, but it might be coded—each brand is different! 2️⃣ Look Online: If the serial number isn’t clear, you can usually find the age by looking up the serial number on the manufacturer’s website. 3️⃣ Ask a Pro: Not sure how to interpret the information? We’re here to help! Why It Matters: As water heaters age, they become less efficient and more prone to leaks and breakdowns. If your unit is nearing or past its lifespan, replacing it with a new, energy-efficient model can save you money on energy bills and prevent unexpected water damage. Don’t wait for an emergency! If your water heater is getting up there in age, give Griffin Plumbing Services a call. We’ll help you assess its condition and recommend the best options for replacement. 📞 913-408-0115 💻 https://lnkd.in/dN2aX_M6

Extension cords are a convenient solution for accessing power in hard to reach places or temporary situations, but they're not meant to be a permanent fix. Using extension cords long-term can pose serious safety risks, including fire hazards and electrical shock. When using extension cords, it's essential to ensure they're in good condition and not frayed or damaged. Inspect cords regularly for any signs of wear and tear and replace them if necessary. Avoid overloading extension cords with multiple devices, as this can cause overheating and increase the risk of fire. Additionally, never run extension cords under rugs or carpets as this can trap heat and create a fire hazard. Instead route cords along baseboards or walls where they're less likely to be damaged or tripped over. At Titan Electrical, we prioritise safety above all else. If you find yourself relying on extension cords regularly, it may be time to consider more permanent solutions, such as installing additional outlets. Our team of professionals can assess your home's electrical needs and recommend the best course of action to keep your electrical system safe and efficient.
