Constipation generally means passing fewer than #three stools a week or having a difficult time passing stool. I totally #disagree with this. My definition of constipation is passing fewer than #six stool a week alongwith difficulty in passing the stool, especially because of hard stool. Ideally, you should be able to pass stool everyday with natural urge. Constipation is usually treated with changes to high-fiber diet with adequate fluid intake and exercise or with nonprescription medicines. Constipation may require medicines, changes in medicines or other treatments prescribed by a healthcare professional. Increasing intake of dietary fiber to 25-40 g/d, consuming more fresh fruit and vegetables, maintaining a generally balanced diet, and avoiding dehydration are all steps that patients can take to relieve constipation. Exercise is considered one of the strategies that can help prevent constipation, and a sedentary lifestyle is a risk factor for constipation. Sleep is not directly correlated with constipation. Finally, it is not advisable to avoid fiber unless the patient has a health contraindication to this dietary component, such as gastroparesis, acute diverticulitis, or uncontrolled inflammatory bowel disease. Constipation can have several effects, including #bloating, #abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, and #weightloss. Rare complications include #bowel impaction and #appendicitis. Diminished #taste sensation is associated with dementia and is not a consequence of constipation. Severe #diabetic #neuropathy can affect the autonomic nervous system, potentially causing loose stools, constipation, or both, but constipation does not cause diabetes. While obesity can be associated with gastrointestinal irregularities, constipation itself does not contribute to #obesity. So, time is very ripe for you to be #ConstipationFree. Constipation does not usually leads to immediate death but it's a direct indication that your gut-health is seriously poor. Do something scientifically before it becomes rogue.
