On December 3, 2024, the Integrated Structure for the Maintenance of Land Equipment (SIMMT) announced that mountain troops would soon receive new Scania Vampire vehicles equipped with the PAMELA platform (Lightweight, Air-Transportable Mistral-Equipped Adaptation Platform) for deploying MISTRAL 3 missiles. Unlike the heavier VBMR-L Serval "Mistral" scheduled for 2027 under the Military Programming Law (LPM) 2024-2030, the Scania Vampire is designed to meet the specific needs of mountain troops and special forces, offering greater mobility and superior adaptability on difficult terrain. The enhancement of mobile air defense capabilities for French infantry centers on VBMR-L Serval vehicles with the Mistral 3 system, expected from 2027. These vehicles combine mobility, protection, and firepower for conventional units in various operational contexts. However, to address the unique requirements of mountain troops and special forces, Scania Vampire vehicles fitted with the Mistral 3 system will be deployed instead of the heavier Servals. Lightweight, air-transportable, and better suited for steep environments, the Scania Vampire aligns more closely with the mobility and rapid deployment needs of these specialized forces. The Scania Vampire vehicles will replace TRM 2000 trucks and VLRA vehicles equipped with the PAMELA system, modernizing the 54th Artillery Regiment's capabilities. The first successful MISTRAL 3 missile launch from a Vampire occurred in November 2024, demonstrating the platform's effectiveness. This program, developed collaboratively by the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) and the Army's Technical Section (STAT), aims to swiftly meet operational needs while minimizing acquisition delays. #military #defense #defence #aerospace #aviation #aircraft #aircrafts #airplane #airplanes #aviationlovers #militaryaviation #militaryaircraft #fighterjet #engineering #technology #militarytechnology #defensetechnology #defenseinnovation #defenseindustry #airforce #pilots

🚀 Military optics form a crucial pillar of the Czech Optical Cluster, and several of our member companies are bringing significant innovations to the defense industry. 🌟 EVPÚ Defence, which focuses on the development, production, and servicing of electro-optical technologies for the defense and security industry, has seen significant growth in recent years, not only due to an expanding product portfolio but also due to the increasing volume of major contracts it successfully fulfills. 📈 The most significant news for EVPÚ Defence is the successful conclusion of several years of negotiations with Swedish BAE Systems Hägglunds AB, the manufacturer of the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle, which has led to the company's inclusion in the industrial cooperation program for the Czech contract for these vehicles. The Czech Army will have a total of seven versions of the CV90 (command, combat, reconnaissance, artillery observer, engineering, recovery, and medical). The combat, command, and reconnaissance versions of the vehicle will be equipped with the CMS-1 command sight from EVPÚ Defence, providing the vehicle commander with complete situational awareness on the battlefield in any tactical environment and under all weather and lighting conditions. #innovation #optics #defense #security #industrialcooperation

Interesting look and read... how I Corps does it understanding the advantages and disadvantages in the Indo-Pacific . What seems to be missing is pretty glaring - how exactly does information warfare enable one to do this and where exactly are the forces that enable it? And at which point are these integrated with other nation's forces and higher HQ planning and synch? As a JTF - the CORPS area of influence may include what? "I Corps focuses on development and realization of the tenet of convergence, defined as “an outcome created by the concerted employment of capabilities from multiple domains and echelons against combinations of decisive points in any domain to create effects against a system, formation, decision maker, or in a specific geographic area.”4 I Corps plays an instrumental role in achieving convergence in the AOR by requesting and synchronizing joint effects with division maneuver."

👀 Lockheed Martin’s latest Sniper targeting pod allows interoperability between F-35s, fourth-gen aircraft, and ground-based artillery systems such as the HIMARS. The externally-mounted Sniper pod enables fourth-gen fighters such as the F-16, F-15, and A-10 real-time targeting capability from the cockpit. “To deliver unprecedented interoperability, we’ve evolved Sniper to do what’s never been done before,” Lockheed Martin VP of Sensors & Global Sustainment Stacy Kubicek said. “The Sniper Networked Targeting Pod connects the battlespace, enabling seamless data sharing across platforms and systems — a capability in high demand by US and allied forces and a powerful force multiplier for joint operations.” #military #army #defense #defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #defensetech #defencetech #militarytech #technology #innovation #lockheedmartin #us #unitedstates

The B-24 Liberator and B-17 Flying Fortress, two iconic American bombers, are seen flying together off the West Coast of the USA. Both aircraft played pivotal roles during World War II, showcasing the strength and versatility of the U.S. Army Air Forces. The B-24, known for its high payload capacity and long range, was extensively used in various theaters of war, including the Pacific and European fronts. Its distinctive design and four-engine configuration allowed it to carry out strategic bombing missions effectively. In contrast, the B-17, famed for its durability and defensive armament, became a symbol of American air power. With its ability to sustain heavy damage and still return home, the B-17 earned the nickname "Flying Fortress" and was instrumental in daylight bombing campaigns over Europe. #military #defense #defence #aerospace #aviation #aircraft #aircrafts #airplane #airplanes #aviationlovers #militaryaviation #militaryaircraft #fighterjet #engineering #technology #militarytechnology #defensetechnology #defenseinnovation #defenseindustry #airforce #pilots #USA #california
