Writing goals down—and being specific—can make all the difference. With the holidays upon us, let’s reflect on our journeys and set clear intentions for the year ahead. If there’s anything I can do to support you or help you reach your goals, please don’t hesitate to reach out. On a recent trip to Big Bear, I dropped off my daughter for her first experience as a summer camp counselor, and decided to rent a boat on the lake. This rare break from my busy routine— teaching, learning, writing, marketing, hiking, exercising, and Zumba—gave me time to reflect. During the drive home, I listened to Arthur Brooks' interview with Ryan Holiday, and it resonated deeply. Here are my 7 takeaways: 1. Embrace Suffering 🌿 Suffering is sacred and essential for growth. The Stoics teach us to embrace it positively. 2. Professional Decline is Natural 📉 Accept and adapt to professional decline by focusing on what truly matters. 3. Find a Pursuit That Ages Well 🍷 Choose activities like writing, teaching, and speaking, which improve with age. "Writing is one of the few professions where you really can do it forever." 4. Avoid Over-Scheduling 🗓️ Too many commitments lead to burnout. Balance your schedule with fewer, meaningful engagements. Tip: Include regular breaks in your day for activities that inspire you. 5. Retire Gradually 🛤️ Transition slowly into retirement by reducing work hours while maintaining purposeful activities. "You don't want to get a shove. You actually put together a schedule that doesn't go from 80 hours a week to zero." 6. Optimize Your Morning Routine 🌅 Start the day early with a disciplined routine of exercise, spiritual work, and focused hours. "The Creator's time, an hour and a half before sunrise, is when the day is yours." 7. Intention Without Attachment 🧭 Have goals, but don't be attached to specific outcomes. Focus on the journey, not just the destination. What small changes can you make today to start building the life you truly want? 🌠 #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #WorkLifeBalance #Stoicism #Happiness #SelfImprovement #CareerAdvice #ArthurBrook #RyanHoliday

With summer winding down, transitioning back to regular routines can be overwhelming. Here are some helpful tips to manage the multiple demands in both personal and professional life: ⬇️ Proactively create a schedule to enhance organization and reduce stress caused by the shift. Even those of us with kids out of school still have to navigate the increased traffic, so plan to leave a little earlier 🏫 🚌 ⬇️ Extend grace to others as they navigate their own challenges and stress during this transition period. You never know what someone else is going through, be kind 🧡 ⬇️ Prioritize self-care by scheduling time for yourself; remember, you must care for yourself to effectively care for others. My favorite way to do this is getting a mani/pedi or catching a movie 📽 ... and be sure to take your lunch, don't work through it 🍱 ⬇️ Step outside and enjoy some fresh air to rejuvenate and take a well-deserved break. Don't forget to take your coffee with you ☕😊 #backtoschool #summersover #SelfCare #WorkLifeBalance

Happy weekend, everyone! Whether you're taking time to relax or working through the weekend, I hope it’s a fulfilling one for you. This week was a busy one for me, starting with a national holiday but quickly shifting into high gear as I prepared for school resumption. Adjusting to a new sleep schedule after 8 weeks of late nights wasn’t easy, but persistence is key! I also took on a LinkedIn challenge, aiming to stay consistent with it (consistency is the goal, after all!). Add in an extra 18-minute detour for school runs due to ongoing road construction, plus continuing progress on a research and data-gathering project—it’s been a full week. Despite the challenges, I’m grateful for a productive week! How was your week? What went well, and what could have been better? #day6of14 #LinkedInpowerup #14dayslinkedInpowerupchallengewithAlice #socialsaturday #LinkedInconnection #WeekendVibes #Productivity #WorkLifeBalance #Consistency #ChallengesAndGrowth #Gratitude #ResearchLife #ParentLife #LinkedInCommunity

The holidays sometimes come wrapped in expectations—perfectionism, long to-do lists, and the pressure to meet other's needs, leaving us feeling fraught and frazzled. But what if, this Christmas, you chose to let some of that go? This year, what could you release to create space for more joy, peace and compassion? Perhaps it’s the need to do everything perfectly, obligations that no longer align with your values, or habits that leave you feeling drained. Releasing isn’t about giving up; it’s about making room for what is of most value. For now, how can you give yourself permission to let go of the 'shoulds' and embrace your most authentic way to celebrate? How can you look at things in a new way to create a season filled with what brings you peace and joy? For the future, coaching provides a supportive space to reflect on and release what’s weighing you down, uncover the things that no longer serve you well and step in to a life of greater ease and flow. If you'd like to work with me to explore ways to step into a new season feeling lighter, more connected with your values and make truly aligned decisions, drop me a message. #bluehealthcoach #release #wisdom #flow #coherence #aligned
