In ERP, many organisations focus on planning the "what". They plan workshops, deliverables, test phases, and so on. In the initiation phase, also focus on describing the "how". - how will we interact among us - how will we run meetings - how will we store information - how will we interact with other projects Building a consensus around "how" will create a project look and feel. People will feel at home in the team and know how things are done. The resulting consistency helps everyone to navigate the inherent complexity of ERP. It will still be hard, but less hard. Little improvements, consistently applied, have big compound effects.
