As 2024 wraps up and everyone is navigating the inevitable end of year rush, it is important to reflect on the second half of 2024 and all the ways in which Aptima’s CORE efforts have impacted the company, our employees, and the communities we serve. We set out with 33 milestones for 2024—a lofty but exciting goal! We’re proud to share that we are on track to achieve 32 of our milestones. Highlights include hosting monthly affinity group meetings, creating CORE materials to include in interviewing processes, and offering CORE and affinity group information to all candidates. We made meaningful strides in outreach by inventorying existing programs, restarting an external community initiative, and engaging with diverse professional groups to broaden our connections and impact. None of this would have been possible without the collaboration and dedication of Aptimists across the company. Today’s post is a small way for us to say Thank You to a member of our team who stepped above and beyond to serve a client. One of our long-standing clients had a banking-related issue that was causing her salaries to get transferred to the wrong account. Far outside of the scope of our work as financial advisor to our client. But a member of our star showed up, served, and saw the problem through. And this wasn’t done for praise or a raise. In fact, if we hadn’t received this testimonial from the client, we wouldn’t even have known! When we were looking to hire for Smyrna Joy Manalac’s role, we struggled to find the right person. We went through some out-of-the-ordinary recruitment channels to find a star player for the team. The effort was obviously worth it!
