Running location-based businesses is hard work; it requires that each person on your team truly understands how to service your customers and work together. Achieving this takes a competent, skilled, and positive leader who knows and understands how to coach and train a team. This, BTW, is not rocket science, but it requires skill development. STOP - recreating the wheel with another flavor-of-the-month workshop that doesn’t train your managers to move the needle, and spending money on training you don’t know will improve accountability, lower turnover, and get the sales results you want this year. Instead, START by scheduling a FREE discovery Call with our team, so that you can CONTINUE to develop your team into winning ones. https://lnkd.in/ewfH244c My team and I at partner with companies so that they can uplevel their managers' skills by helping them to be positive, performance-driven leaders who drive results instead of highly pressured sales managers who cause turnover and poor conversion results because they don’t know how to coach and train their team the right way.

🔥 What do Successful Leaders do? 1️⃣ Set a clear direction and inspire their team toward a common goal. By having a forward-looking perspective, leaders can anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and drive innovation. Vision and future-thinking enable leaders to guide their teams with purpose, creating a roadmap for growth and sustained achievement. 2️⃣ Leaders should focus on habits and integrity because these form the foundation of trust and consistent performance. Habits reflect a leader's commitment to daily excellence and discipline, setting a standard for others to follow. Integrity ensures that leaders act with honesty and uphold ethical principles, which builds credibility and fosters a culture of transparency. 3️⃣ Empowered individuals are more engaged, innovative, and motivated to contribute their best, leading to higher productivity and job satisfaction. By fostering a culture of empowerment, leaders create an environment where creativity thrives, challenges are approached with confidence, and collective success becomes a shared goal. 4️⃣ Leaders should focus on team building because strong teams are the backbone of any successful organization. Effective team building fosters collaboration, trust, and a sense of belonging among team members, which enhances communication and cooperation. When a leader invests in building a cohesive team, they create an environment where diverse skills and perspectives can be harnessed to tackle challenges and achieve common goals.

Even though I coach so many executives on how to motivate their teams, I confess - I'm also a work in progress. Here is the simple formula that has worked for me: Role modeling the behaviors I want them to showcase. Can I do better? Always. What am I doing now? Help them clarify their own purpose. Help them feel more connected to their work. Help align their roles to their passion. One of my team members, even though in sales, has a passion for analytics and research. So we shifted his role. Now half of it is around solution development, listening to customers and proposing solutions that are a perfect match. Triggering motivation is an art and a science, but it always helps to hire individuals who are intrinsically motivated - the drive to go beyond. My intention is to always show the team that I am committed to their progress and development. As leaders, we are the composers, we decide how beautiful the symphony is that gets produced from all of our team members. Take care of your team, and they will take care of your customers. *** I’m Venkat and it is my privilege to share daily insights for sales excellence. Sales Leaders.. Something to think about when you’re figuring out who you want to surround yourself with on your team: We learn more from people who challenge our thought process than those that affirm our conclusions. Strong leaders engage the critics around them to make them stronger. Hire people that are going to push you, That are going to challenge you to be better that are constantly questioning the status quo over the overly agreeable yes people who won’t speak up when your idea bombs Form a challenge network of people on your team who you trust to point out your flaws and help you overcome your weaknesses They give the critical feedback you might not want to hear, but need to hear. Something to chew on maybe

I think one of the top skills of a leader is the ability to make small talk, to pause and take interest in their team members. This process builds trust and is how you build relationships. Stanford University followed MBA students 10 years after graduation and found that grades had little impact on their success, but their ability to talk about everyday things with others did. Go figure! Take some time, know your people, let them know you. Be vulnerable, admit you make mistakes and don’t know everything. THIS is how you build culture, this is how you build loyalty.

It really is that easy, no other perks in the workplace (free lunch, ping pong, gym, etc.) are more important than getting to know your employees at personal level and showing that you care. Above all trusting and empowering them to make decisions, make mistakes, learn from them, and move on without the fear of being judged or punished. This creates a powerful psychologically safe work environment where people will thrive and strive to go above and beyond FOR YOU. They will experiment more and innovate more. #inspire #leadership #BetterLeadership #hrd #hr #shrm
