Q: Why don't frameworks make routing more type safe? The #TypeScript craze began and I wondered why the URL was left out. So many app features work better when you move state to the URL (sharing views, built-in global state, etc.) Comparison 👇

Performance is critical when building mobile apps and Compose is no exception. Here's a Quick #JetpackCompose tip. If you're calculating derived values that depend on state changes, for example filtering out a large list of data based on user input, recomputing these values on every recomposition can slow your app down. An easy way to tackle this would be to use derivedStateOf. By wrapping expensive calculations inside derivedStateOf, you can optimize recompositions and ensure these operations only happen when necessary. This reduces overhead, boosts performance, and makes your app run smoother! Here’s a quick example: filtering a list of items based on a search query. Instead of filtering the list on every re-composition, you can cache the result with derivedStateOf, recalculating only when the query or the dataset changes. :) Use this trick to keep your Compose UIs optimized! #AndroidDev #JetpackCompose #KotlinTips #MobileDevelopment #ComposePerformance #AndroidDevelopment #DevTips #AdvancedKotlin #ComposeOptimization
