❓Ever had a surprising letdown by a brand you love? DoorDash figured out a critical key to success: client experience is everyone’s responsibility! How can you understand #clientexperience if you don’t know the client’s journey? I love what DoorDash has been doing to experience first hand what challenges both employees and customers face. Everyone regardless of title must complete a delivery every month! “by doing these deliveries ourselves, we learned a ton of insights into what it actually took to get these deliveries fulfilled.” ✨You can’t #measure or manage what you don’t understand! I love this mentality and the way DoorDash is reconnecting with the customer’s journey. 🙌🙌🙌 #businessstrategy #fridayfeeling

🔔 𝐀 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐧? An unexpected career twist that's sparking conversations. In a recent popular Chinese film, the main character, once a C-suite of the Internet industry, finds himself jobless due to corporate downsizing. Despite diligent searching for similar roles in IT, he is left wanting. Instead of giving up to life's pressures, he makes an abrupt detour in his career - becoming a deliveryman. So, why is a tech expert swapping codes for cartons a big deal? Geeks gonna geek, and he doesn't leave his tech-savvy behind. He crafts an app that upgrades delivery routes for couriers, positively impacting their work lives. The film addresses the impact of economic slumps on common folks while highlighting societal dilemmas. Yet, its most critical message is to question the traditional interpretation of success. The hero's journey showcases how skills nurtured over a career are versatile and can add value across industries. His tale serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of adaptability and resilience in challenging times. Let's ponder: How can we apply our skills in unanticipated ways? Are we prepared to redefine success? #CareerSwitch #TechToTakeaway #RedefineSuccess

I catch up with friends from my time at DoorDash regularly. Most are successful operators who played a major role in DoorDash’s growth. They all have one common trait: intellectual honesty. This is table stakes to be a great operator. People with intellectual honesty are: → Open to new ideas and are willing to admit their wrong → Proactive about finding other POVs, even when they’re polarizing → Aware of their biases and actively work to mitigate them → Leverage data and reliable sources to validate their hypotheses They know that just because something feels right doesn’t mean it always is, and they work hard to prove or disprove their theories. You have to be comfortable being wrong and making mistakes. As a result, the people who work with you will become comfortable challenging your assumptions, leading everyone toward the correct decision.

Today, a delivery driver from “…..” introduced himself as a "delivery boy." It made me wonder - are there better ways to describe this essential role? Companies like Deliveroo use "delivery hero," which is certainly positive! Here are some other respectful options: Delivery Driver (Clear and straightforward) Delivery Courier (Highlights service provider aspect) Delivery Associate (Emphasizes teamwork) What terms resonate with you? Let's create a more professional and inclusive delivery culture.

I have read a ton of commentary and news related to the #crowdstrike update outage and I just hope that all the companies affected are giving a ton of thanks, love and gratitude to their workplace engineering, help/service desk and security teams. Having led teams through major incidents such as this I can honestly say there is nothing worse then cleaning up someone else's mess and not being appreciated for it. If you have a limited PTO policy (like 3 weeks a year etc.) consider giving these teams a few extra days off. Make sure that they are eating while they are performing this work - perhaps send a DoorDash card to assist with that and finally if you are in a leadership position help divide the work so everyone can take a break. Standing with your team now is the most important thing. Thank you to all the "boots on the ground" IT folks doing the needful this weekend. #hugops #gratitude #serviceleadership

LIFE IS NOT THE SAME FOR EVERYONE. Today, I came across a video that truly resonated with me—a Glovo delivery agent walking in the rain, braving the elements to ensure timely service. It’s a vivid reminder of the incredible dedication and resilience shown by so many professionals in their daily work. This moment sparked a few key takeaways that I wanted to share: 1️⃣ Gratitude: Let’s take a moment to appreciate the hard work of delivery personnel and all frontline workers. Their commitment ensures that our lives continue seamlessly, come rain or shine. 2️⃣ Resilience: This agent’s actions highlight the importance of resilience—not just in the delivery sector but in all aspects of life and work. A little extra effort can make a huge difference. 3️⃣ Timeliness Matters: Meeting deadlines and delivering on promises—whether in logistics, business, or personal goals—is a value that resonates across industries. As we work towards improving processes and systems, it’s equally vital to recognize and support the human effort that drives these operations. To all the delivery agents, frontline workers, and everyday heroes out there—thank you for inspiring us with your dedication and grit. 🙌 What’s one instance where you witnessed or experienced extraordinary commitment to getting the job done? Let’s celebrate these moments together. #Dedication #Resilience #Gratitude #Logistics #CustomerService

To stay ahead of disruptions and dangerous situations, it's essential to have robust systems, tools, and procedures in place. A reactive approach can leave an organization playing catch-up, scrambling to deal with problems after they have already happened. DoorDash is a shining example of a team that knows how to stay ahead of bad situations and get the best possible outcome when things go wrong. Sometimes, even being overqualified doesn't guarantee a callback. I recently applied for an Order Picker role just to stay active and keep income flowing, but I didn’t make it through. It's a reminder of the realities in today’s job market. For now, I’m keeping things moving with Uber Eats and DoorDash, putting in the work while I search for the right fit. It's not about pride—it's about staying resilient, adapting, and pushing forward regardless of setbacks. To everyone else facing similar challenges, remember you're not alone. Keep pushing, stay focused, and keep grinding. #JobSearch #Resilience #StayFocused #SideHustle #CareerJourney

With most things in life, there’s a MASSIVE gap between inputs and outputs. Effort and reward. Six months after I joined DoorDash, I had lunch with a mentor. He had a knack for picking successful companies and over the years I’d come to value his opinion. During our lunch, he told me that DoorDash was a “nice” place to work and while I would learn a lot, the company was going nowhere. This was the prevailing view of DoorDash in 2017. Food delivery was a bad industry. We were going to run out of cash. We were going to get crushed by Grubhub or Uber Eats. So much negativity. But less than two years after that lunch, DoorDash’s valuation shot to $12.6 billion, an increase of more than 20x. In my opinion, 2017 was the most pivotal year for DoorDash. Hiring and retaining employees was a challenge. Resources were scarce. We had to do more with less. During that period, we became more operationally sound. So when additional funding came, it was like pouring gas on an already burning fire. I’ve learned that recognition from the outside world comes long after the hard work has been done. There's always a gap between effort and reward, which is why consistency is so important. This is true in your career, relationships, health, finances, and everything else. DoorDash did the little things right, day after day, month after month, until success was inevitable. Don't waste your energy trying to shortcut the process. Winning comes when you do the little things right every single day. Focus on the inputs. Real progress takes time. Consistency is key.

Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Order Delivery Issues Dear DoorDash Support Team, I hope this message finds you well, though I must express my frustration regarding a recent experience that has affected my ability to fulfill orders, ultimately impacting my pay and completion rate. On [insert date], while I was en route to pick up an order, I encountered a significant roadblock caused by local police activity. Despite my best efforts to navigate around the obstruction, I was unable to reach the restaurant in time to collect the order. This situation not only prevented me from successfully completing the delivery but also left me without compensation for my time and effort. As a dedicated Dasher, it is incredibly disheartening to see my completion rate negatively impacted due to circumstances beyond my control. I rely on DoorDash for my income, and situations like this undermine my ability to earn and maintain a positive standing within the platform. I am writing to formally request that DoorDash reviews this incident and provides clarity on how such situations will be handled in the future. Specifically, I would appreciate: Improved customer service communication regarding unexpected roadblocks or incidents that may impact deliveries. Compensation for the time and effort I invested in this order, despite not being able to complete it. Assurance that my completion rate will not be adversely affected by events outside my control. The delivery service we provide is a partnership, and I expect that DoorDash will support its Dashers in ensuring our efforts are recognized fairly. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter. Sincerely, Brehanna Solomon
