Anterix’s Post

To explore how technology, policy, regulation, and innovation can come together to drive a digitized, resilient clean energy future, Anterix's Chief Regulatory and Communications Officer Chris Guttman-McCabe moderated a panel discussion this week at GridWise Alliance's #gridCONNEXT2024 event in Washington, DC. Panelists included (L to R) Hugo E Mena, P.E., Chief Growth Officer, Electric Power Engineers; Joe Walsh, VP of Smart Grid Advisory and Networks at NRTC; Ira Keltz, Acting Chief, Office of Engineering & Technology, Federal Communications Commission; and Greg R. White, outgoing Executive Director of NARUC.   The top takeaway from this panel: Digitization, data collection, and modern communications are critical strategic enablers for the modern grid.   As Hugo said, "With DERs, electrification, and EVs, we're going to be able to have a more flexible grid. We're going to need options to plan the grid better to incorporate these more effectively and efficiently."
