It is imperative for the chemical industry to look at feedstocks as the foundation to attain sustainability, in the true sense. While complete reliance on renewable feedstocks may not be practical for business operations, continued dependence on fossil-based feedstocks is unsustainable for the environment. The key to sustainable and profitable chemical manufacturing is maintaining a balance between renewable and fossil-based feedstocks. Thrilled to be a part of the core team and the co-author of the knowledge paper on "Building sustainable chemical manufacturing in India through innovation, integration and incentives" presented at the Indian Chemical Council's Sustainability Conclave 2024 event. Kudos to the entire team of co-authors and the core team who made this possible. I thank the leadership team, especially Manas Majumdar and Mukund Devnani, also Nirman Dutta, PMP® and Jaideep Roy for providing this opportunity. #SustainabilityConclave2024 #PwCIndia #IndianChemicalCouncil

India's chemical industry has made considerable strides towards sustainability, transitioning from mere compliance to proactive global engagement. Initiatives like Responsible Care and Indian Chemical Council's (ICC) own initiative, Nicer Globe have inspired this shift. Today, challenges like climate change, regulatory compliances, and evolving consumer demands are driving chemical companies to integrate sustainable practices in their manufacturing and at the same time, improve their competitive advantage and brand image.    Against this backdrop, PwC and Indian Chemical Council (ICC) are proud to release the knowledge paper,  'Building sustainable chemical manufacturing in India through innovation, integration, and incentives' at the ICC Sustainability Conclave 2024. This paper outlines a comprehensive roadmap for sustainability in India's chemical manufacturing sector.    Explore our 3I approach for sustainability – Innovation, Integration, and Incentives – as the foundation for this transformation: https://lnkd.in/gP5uehsr    #Sustainability #Innovation #ChemicalManufacturing #ICCSustainabilityConclave2024 #3IApproach Dr. Volker Fitzner | Manas Majumdar | Mukund Devnani | Sambitosh Mohapatra | Sandeep Kumar Mohanty | Manpreet Singh | Ajay Deshmukh
