Just one of my Blog Articles I've written over the last few weeks. These articles will give you insights into who I am, my passions and what drives me. This one is entitled "Embracing Neurodiversity in Fashion: My Journey at SingleTree Lane." I hope you like it or at least learn a little bit more about who I am. An Excerpt: As the founder and sole designer at SingleTree Lane, I leverage my INTJ personality and Asperger's Syndrome to create unique and innovative fashion designs. My neurodiversity allows me to see the world through a different lens, influencing my approach to fabric creation and garment design with meticulous attention to detail and a deep appreciation for unconventional beauty. Each piece at SingleTree Lane challenges traditional fashion norms, embodying individuality and accessibility for wear in every setting. In addition to revolutionizing fashion, I advocate for greater acceptance and understanding of neurodiversity within the industry, inspired by other notable figures like Elon Musk who have publicly embraced their neurodiverse traits. By integrating elements of energy healing and promoting inclusivity, SingleTree Lane not only offers unique apparel but also fosters a community that celebrates diversity and the power of seeing the world differently. https://lnkd.in/gmX5_r_V

Adaptive clothing is very much on the cusp of becoming a mainstream category. We're still early, and we still have a long way to go, but there are whispers of a much larger movement that is gaining momentum. I often get asked about the number of brands entering the space. Am I threatened? Here's the thing: in the four categories No Limbits currently serves (people with lower limb difference, wheelchair users, sensory friendly, and folks with limited dexterity,) the market has been estimated at $2.6 billion in the US alone. We need more brands to enter the space. The challenge we face is not that the market is niche, it's that people with disabilities have felt ignored for so long that they don't know that adaptive options are out there, and unless they're newer in their disability journey, they've given up searching for it. Every brand in the adaptive clothing space benefits from more activity in it. And there are so many problems to solve that it's easy to be collaborative instead of competitive. It's for this reason that events like Denver Fashion Week are so instrumental. Showing adaptive fashion as a part of mainstream fashion is pivotal to its inclusion as a category. https://lnkd.in/ePTYCYRA #entrepreneurship #adaptiveclothing #accessibility #disability #fashion

I stumbled across this inspiring young woman Tilly Lockey and summarized what we (especially product developers and designers) can learn from her: Her journey with prosthetics has taught her the importance of integrating design and individuality. Here are her key takeaways: Desire for Individuality: Standard prosthetics meant to look natural always felt limiting to me. I wanted creative designs that reflect my personality. New Focus on Design: Prosthetics that look like futuristic "cyborg" arms have helped me overcome stigma and celebrate my uniqueness. Mental Empowerment: Wearing bold, unique prosthetics has made me feel more confident and proud instead of feeling the need to hide. Just Ask!: The key is to include the users in the development process from the start on. https://lnkd.in/eEA6mqas #Design #Innovation #Prosthetics #Inclusion #Individuality

I’m a model, and I’ve seen firsthand how AI can manipulate the fashion industry: New York’s Fashion Workers Act would create basic labor protections for models—including around digital replicas and AI-generated content. If you follow fashion, you’re undoubtedly familiar with New York Fashion Week. It’s more than a series of runway shows; it’s a cornerstone of the global fashion industry—a vibrant celebration of creativity that brings together the most talented designers and artists in the world. But at its heart, NYFW owes its success to the models who bring these artistic visions to life. http://dlvr.it/TGsBxB

Fashion, often viewed as a superficial pursuit, is deeply integral to our lives, serving multiple essential functions beyond aesthetics. Its significance lies in its impact on personal identity, cultural expression, and economic activity, among other areas. On a personal level, fashion is a powerful form of self-expression. Through clothing and accessories, individuals can convey their identity, creativity, and values. Fashion allows people to assert their individuality and feel a sense of belonging, making it a crucial tool for personal and social identity. Culturally, fashion reflects societal values and historical shifts. It provides a window into different eras and social movements, preserving cultural heritage and offering insights into the changing dynamics of society. For instance, the fashion of the 1920s and 1970s tells stories of social change and rebellion. Economically, fashion is a major industry that drives economic activity and employment. It spans design, manufacturing, retail, and marketing, generating substantial revenue and providing millions of jobs worldwide. The industry's economic impact underscores fashion's role in innovation and growth. Psychologically, fashion influences self-esteem and mood. The way people dress can affect their confidence and emotional well-being, making fashion a tool for enhancing self-image and addressing personal feelings. Socially, fashion fosters community and connection. Shared trends and styles create common ground among individuals and groups, reinforcing social bonds and providing a sense of belonging. In essence, fashion is far from trivial; it is a vital part of our lives, influencing personal expression, cultural understanding, economic stability, psychological health, and social cohesion. Its importance is woven into the fabric of our everyday experiences, highlighting its necessity in shaping who we are and how we interact with the world. #Fashion #superficial #integral #essential #functions #aesthetics #cultural #expression #economic #activity #personal #Psychologically

𝐀𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐬, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 "𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜" 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 The #𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗪𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗔𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 took over TikTok last winter and had real-world market implications: faux or not, finding a fur coat under $100 became nearly impossible. A garment that had largely faded from fashion — thanks to red paint incidents and societal shifts — suddenly became the statement piece of the season. On the coattails of a year of #𝗱𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 and rapid-fire microtrend cycles (Mermaidcore, Coquette, Balletcore, and more), this moment stood out as a shift that prioritized aesthetic over brand. Even after revelations that the trend may have been manufactured, the fluffy silhouettes became a winter wardrobe essential, anchoring a season of bold maximalism and unapologetic opulence. What primed the market for the Mob Wives trend? • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗻: Minions in the streets for Despicable Me, Barbie dominating culture, and Taylor Swift fans reshaping local economies—2023 highlighted the extraordinary power of fandoms on a massive scale. • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀: From Cinnamon Girl to Barbiecore to Office Siren, seeding another similar aesthetic flew under the radar in a whirlwind of fleeting trends. • 𝗔 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺: Logos, animal print, and bright colors championed a "more is more" ethos. • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰: A focus on women embracing power, mystery, and allure. Let’s not forget the cultural groundwork laid by: • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹: Spring and Summer 2023, heightened by the release of Barbie was a season of women celebrating individuality and community alike. • 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: Globally, stories of leadership and resilience were everywhere, from the media to daily life. • 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰e: A collective push for boldness, visibility, and autonomy. Manufactured or organic, 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀. Connection starts with understanding. After all, you wouldn't serve cannoli to someone who doesn't like cream. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 - 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁? Image: Alexandra Folino/Getty for Glamour
