Why are you the one?
Why are you the one to accomplish the task, feat, or endeavor before you?
I hear this question a lot and they all are looking for industry experience.
Jeff Bezos, Reed Hastings, Sara Blakely, Vera Wang and countless others have created some of the most successful companies and brands without having previous experience within those industries.
How relevant is that question then?
It seems to me that their stories often highlight the importance of transferable skills, adaptability, perseverance, and sometimes, the willingness to learn and take risks.
As a Marine, those soft skills come in spades. Also as a Marine I learned that, more often than not, being "the one" to lead an organization merely means being the one willing to step into the shoes of responsibility. ***I have a great story about how I joined the Marines around this topic. Respond with a like if you want to hear it :)***
So here I am. I've stepped into some shoes that in all reality are probably much too big for me, BUT I will adapt...I will persevere...and I know I don't have to do it alone.
I'm looking for individuals who see the value in what we're building at GroeFit, a system that enables big gyms to scale personalized engagement.
