Caught up with the legend, Dez Corkhill, for 3 Top Tips on MOTORSPORT commentary. Buckle up, let's goooo: 3. Know Your Circuit: Understand the circuit intimately - where the overtaking hotspots are, which corners are treacherous, what areas are dangerous - this adds depth to your commentary. If possible, walk or drive the circuit yourself. 2. Helmets Over Numbers: With liveries often looking similar, it's the helmet colours that can truly distinguish the riders. They're personal and unique, so you can make them your go-to for identification. Do not rely on the numbers alone. 1. Timing Monitors are Crucial: ALWAYS keep an eye on those timings. They often tell a story as compelling as the track action, highlighting racers who may start slow but suddenly make a significant charge. Nice one Dez. Insightful, right? What are your top commentary tips? #MotorsportCommentary #SportsBroadcasting #SportsBroadcasting #SportsMedia #BroadcastingTips #MentalToughness #SportsCareer

In the long history of the #Formula1 world championship, 12 circuits have hosted #F1 grands prix in the #USA. The first was Sebring in 1959, & the latest is Las Vegas last year. Some were/are great; some were/are terrible. In my new #MotorSport column I have run through all 12, describing, rating, ranking, and telling a few stories about every single one. Circuit of the Americas - aka Austin - which hosted last Sunday’s #UnitedStatesGrandPrix, is not my number-one, but it features pretty high. Incidentally, in order to avoid the endless wrangling over if, why, when, and how penalties should be applied to drivers for their on-track transgressions, which thorny issue is becoming an ongoing pain in the backside for all #F1 stakeholders - drivers, team people, FIA people, circuit people, sponsors, journalists, and above all fans - Austin needs a bit of grass or gravel, especially at Turns 1 and 12. So I have also tackled that subject in my new #MotorSport column. Click below to read it. https://lnkd.in/eMN6Qbjw

What an F1 weekend! Vegas is a city built on energy—bright lights, roaring engines, and relentless ambition. As I stood above the F1 race track on the Strip, watching the precision and speed, it hit me: life and business are a lot like DJing and racing. It’s not just about how fast you go; it’s about how you manage the momentum. As a DJ, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about hype beats or big drops. It’s about reading the room, adapting to the energy, and keeping the rhythm steady enough to build something unforgettable. In business, like in Vegas or F1, timing and control are everything. You can’t take every curve at full speed, and you can’t win without strategy. So, whether you’re spinning tracks or building your next move, ask yourself: Are you racing to keep up—or staying in control of your lane? #vegasdj #djmix #dj #LifeLessonsFromTheStrip #MomentumMatters #DJWisdom #F1Vegas #LinkedInGrowth #BusinessMindset
