We're not against statistical analysis - there is place for it in many 'data-rich' organisations. We recently studied over 300 completed projects by our course participants and asked ourselves, how many of these original 'problems' would be best served by a six sigma data analysis approach or a lean process improvement approach? Some were difficult to clearly assess, but in our estimation, over 85% of the problems identified required basic lean tools, a no nonsense approach, and team collaboration.
