The “Book The Cook” meals we ate were excellent when we flew Singapore Airlines (SQ) SIN-JFK nonstop (November, 2022) Premium Economy, so further improvement will make something that was already among the best on any PE flight we’ve taken across several #airlines even better. However, there were some disappointing #paxex elements on our flight: 1) the rear lavatories were not nearly as clean as they could’ve - or should’ve - been, with one toilet leaking fluid down both sides that puddled on the floor throughout the flight; 2) while the airline says wines & champagne will also be upgraded, the lack of a full, proper cocktail service was truly disappointing for such a long flight (especially one that departs midday/lunchtime) & made the experience seem decidedly less “premium” & more like an elevated Economy Plus (E+) - or as I believe, E++, than a true Premium Economy; 3) the 8-abreast (2-4-2) 19.5” wide inch seats with 38” row pitch aboard SQ’s Airbus A350-900ULR is a bit cramped & even a little claustrophobic for such a long flight (~18.5 hours). 19.5” (49.53 cms) seat width & 38” (96.52 cms) row pitch may be fine for 8-10 hours, but >10 hours definitely feels cramped & confining. No changes to the aircraft seating configuration was announced at this time, with a rumored A350-900ULR cabin update ruled out for the time being, per a recent report available in the reader comments section below. Pro tip: Highly recommend paying the additional fee for the 3 rows of solo seats in the rear of the PE cabin along the windows, where seats are 6-abreast (1-4-1) & there’s a nifty storage compartment next to the seat! #airtravel #business #businesstravel #singapore #avgeek #asiapacific #airlineindustry

Travelling through Palma airport (PMI) this weekend, one of our team went to grab some food and a drink and got quite a shock. In the main F&B outlet, the cost of a sandwich, drink, and snack was a whopping €18.60. This is versus just €4.28 downtown! That's quite a difference. 😱 💼 Are these inflated prices impacting shopper perception?
