A Powerful Story of Love, Hope, and ALS: "For Love & Life: No Ordinary Campaign" I was deeply moved by the documentary "For Love & Life: No Ordinary Campaign," now streaming on primevideosmytv. This film follows Brian Wallach and his powerhouse wife, Sandra Abrevaya, Co-Founders of I AM ALS as they navigate a devastating ALS diagnosis at a young age. Their powerful story of love, resilience, and activism to change the healthcare system for people living with ALS is truly inspiring. For Brainstorm Cell Therapeutics, the film holds an even greater significance. "For Love & Life" features #NurOwn as Brian and Sandra fight for better treatment options. Watching their journey reinforces the importance of our work in developing new therapies for ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. I highly recommend checking out this documentary. It's a powerful reminder of the human spirit and the transformative power of hope and collaboration in the face of adversity. #ALS #LoveAndLife #Documentary #Hope #Brainstorm #NurOwn #NeurodegenerativeDiseases

🌟 Bridging Science and Patient Experience in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) 🌟 As a neuroscientist deeply invested in identifying new treatments for Parkinson’s Disease (PD), I have come to appreciate an essential truth: meaningful progress starts with understanding the disease at the patient level. While my work in the lab focuses on dissecting cellular mechanisms and uncovering novel therapeutic targets, it's the insights from patients, caregivers, and clinicians that truly ground and guide this journey. Understanding PD isn’t just about unraveling molecular pathways; it’s about recognizing how the disease impacts daily lives, relationships, and mental well-being. This perspective inspired me to launch a podcast featuring experts like Dr. G M Wali, a distinguished neurologist with over two decades of experience treating PD. In our latest episode, we discuss the signs, symptoms, and treatments of PD, as well as practical ways to manage the disease and support loved ones. It’s a step towards making scientific insights accessible and creating a platform for dialogue that bridges research with real-world challenges. 🔬✨ By aligning scientific discovery with patient experiences, I believe we can develop treatments that not only target symptoms but also improve quality of life. Hello Friends, September is a very important month from many perspectives. We have the Childhood cancer awareness month, Blood cancer awareness month and the festival of lord Ganesha, that brings new energy and creativity to our work. This whole month we at BMT Support Foundation are going to have some incredible sessions on our platform #svastiastu, beginning with this Young and dynamic - Shraddha Namjoshi. She has recently published a paper on the 'Role of Psychosocial research for Patients & caregivers'. By this conversation we hope to understand the Gaps in the existing processes, Advantages of proactive communication models for Patients and Caregivers and some great insights during the research process. Everyone in the cancer space should definitely be a part of this conversation. its also great for #mentalhealth students to learn from this research. Date: 3rd, September, 2024, Tuesday (tomorrow) Time: 5.00pm Where: https://lnkd.in/dze2Ze4R We need your support and encouragement to take this conversation forward and be of service to people going through what 2 lac people in India go through blood cancer each year, out of which about 50K are children. #cancer,#bloodcancer,#bmt,#bonemarrowtransplant,#GvHD,#bmtexpert,#inspiration, #HSCT, #Stemcell, #myeloma, #lymphoma, #svastiastu, #motivation, #yoga, #leukemia, #lymphoma, #Geneticdiseases, #mentalhealth

The pathological hallmarks of fibrillary amyloid-beta and tau tangles are similar between early-onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD) and late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD), but many other pathological characteristics differ between the two. For instance, the medial temporal lobe (MTL) has previously been described as being spared in EOAD compared to LOAD. However, the classification of EOAD is based solely on age of onset, and it is known that clinical differences exist within EOAD. Laura Wisse and her team have explored how the MTL is affected in amnestic (memory-impaired) EOAD and compared it to amnestic LOAD, finding evidence of MTL atrophy in amnestic EOAD. The World Alzheimer's Day takes place on September 21; This special day is a global effort to raise awareness and challenge the stigma around Alzheimer's disease and other #dementia. More than 55 million people across the world are affected by this #neurodegenerative disease that also affects communication and swallowing. There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but professors from our department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison collaborate with the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (http://www.adrc.wisc.edu/), the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute (https://wai.wisc.edu/), and the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention (https://wrap.wisc.edu/) to improve the lives of people affected by this devastating diagnosis. Help us build a future without Alzheimer’s disease. 💸No one understands the “Disability Tax” better than a person with a rare neurodegenerative disease, right? The annual MRI’s, the endless doctor visits, the mobility devices, the home modifications that we need just to function in our own homes. You tell RPV what your diagnoses are. The best part? You don’t even need a rare disease to sign up! You can have run-of-the-mill asthma and STILL participate. Once you sign up, RPV will send you opportunities to participate in surveys, communities, and interviews. Answer a few questions to determine if you are eligible. If selected, participation earns up to $120 USD per hour! Can it BE any easier??? 🔑The key is to use our unique affiliate LINK #HypertrophicOlivaryDegeneration #HOD #HODHeroes #HODAwareness #MakingHODHistory #NeuroScience #RarePatientVoice

You may be shocked by the average age of an American living with early-onset dementia and Alzheimer's disease. 49 years old, 58% being women. This number has drastically increased over the years. Meet apolipoprotein E (ApoE), a gene with a profound impact on how our brains respond to stressors. The story of ApoE unfolds into three distinctive subtypes: 1. ApoE3: The Average Guardian 2. ApoE2: The Rare Protector 3. ApoE4: The Risky Trailblazer Your unique combination of these subtypes significantly influences your Alzheimer’s risk. The combinations can vary, allowing for either identical subtypes or a mix, depending on the copies inherited from both parents. Interested in learning more?
