I came across an eye-opening fact recently: in PR, there's something called the "golden hour." It's the first 60 minutes during a crisis when organisations have a critical window to respond effectively, before public opinion begins to solidify. This timeframe really underscores the importance of swift and thoughtful action in our field. It’s not just about reacting quickly; it’s about being transparent, empathetic, and having a clear plan of action right from the start. The concept also resonates deeply as it highlights the value of reassuring. Saying that things will fall back in the place and that you, as a company, are ready to take the right actions can make a lot of difference for your company's future. How Interesting!! #crisismanagement #publicrelations #PRfact #goldenhour

I find the usage of ''Proper PR'' very instructive here. PR needs PR to clear, once and for all, the erroneous perception of it being a tool for white-washing and spinning.
Stop using PR to cover bad performance every time. That's window-dressing. Fix the issues. PR is not a fix-all. Neither is it a cure-all. If you have structural issues in your organisation and they're affecting performance, fix them. PR isn't the magic wand. Fix the issues and let PR people do proper PR. Not covering up or telling lies all the time. That's not sustainable. How long will you continue to cover up? If you desire a good reputation, don't just talk, do. Perform. Take actions. Good, responsible deeds. If you err, own up to it. Shows responsibility and accountability. That's PR on its own. Depends on how you slant it. #strategiccommunications #reputationmanagement #communications #publicrelations

We all have "whoops" stories 😉 Especially when it comes to the high-pressure world of corporate communications. We constantly feel the weight of every public move, the pressure even stronger because every misstep can be crucial for the company's reputation. Sometimes, between putting out internal fires and external storms, we forget that it's okay to mess up. We shouldn't fear failure. Analyze what went wrong, learn from it, and move on. It's part of the game. Once you've been there, there's a good chance you won't repeat it. So don't see it as a weakness, it's actually your strength. #PR #CorporateCommunications

Reminder: If your PR team hesitates to pitch during a crowded news cycle, (Anything going on right now? Politics, Olympics, just to name a few) they aren't being negative. They're being honest and protective—of both the brand/client and their valuable media relationships. Consistently sending irrelevant or poorly-timed pitches risks having your emails ignored by the media, not to mention looking selfish. Please Respect the PR persons expertise. They should professionally guide the strategy and cadence of what is being pitched and when. #publicrelations #reminder #trust
