I love it when we can help a client move forward in attaining their goals Last week we went to Venture Connect where we saw over 50 pitches by startups to investors. This week a client of ours asked us if they could present their pitch deck to me so I could provide feedback. I was thrilled to be able to use the insights I gained by attending Venture Connect to help him with his deck. After all, that was our main goal in attending - to hear the conversations startups are having with investors and to be able to bring value back to our clients! #entrepreneurship

I'm hosting a TALK this THURSDAY. I'm really happy to announce that I am going to be Talking at Venture Café Cambridge this 1st of August ! In the last year, I've been deeply working with my team on creating something helpful for Founders & revolutionising the Entrepreneurship Landscape. The journey of a startup founder is tough. You need GUIDANCE HELP and you’re faced with a shit ton of UNKNOWNS. There are many initiatives out there to help, but most of them are geared towards senior entrepreneurs and not those in the early stages, like accelerators and incubators (think of Y Combinator for example). These programs expect you to show up with an already-formed team and a solid idea. But what about those first steps? No one really helps you find CoFounders and build those initial relationships, which are so crucial. The importance of having a strong team and co-founders cannot be overstated. That’s where Onlyfounders comes in. Our vision is to bridge this gap by helping early-stage entrepreneurs find CoFounders and maintain these vital relationships. We’ve been working hard on this mission to ensure founders have the support they need from the very beginning. I'm excited to be speaking in Boston at one of the best networking events, Venture Café & really thankful to Tricia Bitetto & Alexander Cheung for providing me this opportunity. Thanks CWRU Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship, CWRU LaunchNET, Burton D. Morgan Foundation, and Bob Pavey for hosting the Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition this past Wednesday. I had fun pitching SellAnalytix, winning 3rd in the venture track, and meeting a bunch of other interesting startups. It was my first time pitching a company, and I tried to think about weaving a story through easily skimmable slides. From one of my favorite Ted Talks, Death By PowerPoint, I tried to focus on only idea per slide, eliminating all bullet points, and engaging public speaking.

Upcoming Free Zoom Panel on Corporate Strategic Startup Investing I am pleased to announce the next Zoom panel of the Richi Foundation, on the topic of Corporate Strategic Investors in Life Sciences Startups. The panel will feature two corporate investors and one fund investor, to provide both sides' perspective to the impact of having a strategic investor in a seed or A Round life sciences funding syndicate. The two corporate investors are Michael Baran, Executive Director at Pfizer Ventures, and Meg Wood, Partner at NYBC Ventures, the venture arm of the NY Blood Center. (Meg just signed up, so she will be on the web site in a few days.) The fund panelist is Dana Callow, founder and head of Boston Millennia Partners.
