We have recently received a Certificate of Participation for the training course on the Open ES Portal, an innovative tool that promotes transparency and sustainable development for businesses. But we didn't stop there! Following this training event, we decided to take it a step further by implementing an ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) process. This initiative will allow us to integrate sustainable practices in the following areas: 🌍 Environment: Improving our organization’s environmental impact by reducing emissions and optimizing the use of natural resources. 🤝 Social: Investing in people, promoting inclusivity, gender equality, and well-being both within and outside our company. ⚖️ Governance: Strengthening corporate transparency and ethics by adopting decision-making models based on responsibility and integrity. A fulfilling Saturday indeed! HR Society (Maria Savaki, Igor Bobryk Malama Stavraki, Athanasia Maniavou & I) successfully hosted yet another enriching workshop: "Embracing all voices: A Journey towards Diversity & Inclusion!" Special thanks to Stathis Grammenos for setting the #legal #framework and sharing useful statistics from the Hellenic Labour Inspectorate with us. It is noteworthy that in these cases of violence and harassment, the complainants - victims are now also men, although the female gender continues to be in the lead. Efi Stavropoulou provided invaluable insights into fundamental concepts such as #diversity, #equity, #inclusion, and #belonging. She emphasized the positive impact of inclusive practices on various aspects such as company profitability and goal setting, while underscoring the detrimental effects of exclusion. Let's remember and practice the behavioral communication technique she shared with us: Pause - Reflect - Reframe - Explore - Respond. It's an ongoing journey. Nadia Karmiri shared the best practices implemented at Bayer over the past three years, focusing on #Education & #Training, #Communication, #Engagement, and #Policies & #Accountability. Their journey toward Diversity & Inclusion stands as a testament to organizational/business support, openness to feedback, and commitment to progress. Given the event's theme, it was imperative to welcome Iro Melliou from Vodafone to share their innovative practices, including Bright Sky & Panic Button. These initiatives underscore the importance of leveraging technology for enhancing safety and inclusivity. Last but not least, a warm appreciation to Stella Kasdagli from Women On Top for her invaluable contribution. While Greece may have made strides in gender equality on paper, there's still significant room for improvement, as indicated by the equality index. She provided us with useful insights into what lies ahead regarding the D&I foundations of the new European directives. Organizations like Women on Top play a pivotal role in fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment through education and research. 📝There are a variety of different participatory methods that you can use to gather meaningful outcome data. Here are five techniques that can help your organization collect stories of impact and get a picture of the change process: 🔸Most Significant Change The Most Significant Change (MSC) is a method to gather stories of change from a group of people, such as grantees, partners, program participants, or other communities of interest. Outcomes emerge from the participants' stories and voices. 🔸Outcome Harvesting Outcome mapping is a planning and monitoring tool that helps groups identify the changes in a variety of actors (referred to as boundary partners) that a project, program, or organization works directly with to track progress made. The harvesting process draws from a utilization-focused approach and does not measure against pre-set outcomes. 🔸Photo Voice Photovoice was developed by Caroline C. Wang and Mary Ann Burris in 1992 as mechanism for giving voice to populations who were often under represented and not heard. People are trained to use cameras and photograph their perspectives. It allows for stories to be told and shared through photographic collections, and can also include text descriptions of the stories. 🔸World Cafe The World Cafe technique is often used in in-person events, where tables or stations are set up around the room with different questions. A facilitated conversation is held at each table . 🔸Appreciative Inquiry The Appreciative inquiry model helps to focus on what is going right and how to support changemakers in achieving similar positive outcomes in the future. The process focuses on creativity and can help deepen understanding of a group’s shared values and collective objectives. #opportunity Tide Mentoring Programme - apply by 23 December The Tide’s Mentoring Programme aims to foster a collaborative and impactful exchange of knowledge and experiences between professionals working in the distinct yet interconnected fields of environment, gender, and security. Through mentorship, we will create a space where participants can share expertise, explore the intersectionality of these fields, and find innovative solutions to the complex global challenges we face today. The programme will be launched in February 2025, bringing together 15 professionals – 5 from each of the three focus areas – who will engage in a mutually beneficial mentoring process. Each participant will both mentor and be mentored by two persons from the other fields, allowing for a comprehensive exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and practices. Ideal Participants: Environment Professionals: Those working in climate change, sustainability, environmental justice, or conservation, with a focus on how these issues impact social, political, and security outcomes. Gender Experts: Professionals with a focus on gender equality, women's rights, and feminist approaches to development, peace, and security. I am super delighted to share that I successfuuly completed a Course on Trade, Gender, and Development organized by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) . We had intensive weeks of delving into critical aspects of how trade impacts gender dynamics and vice versa, learning great insights on policy formulation, research, and advocacy strategies in this vital intersection. Throughout the course, we explored: * Looking at the economy through a gender lens; *Understanding how trade influences women’s economic empowerment; *Analyzing the gendered impacts of trade integration in various sectors; *Examining the role of Voluntary Sustainability Standards in women’s economic empowerment in agriculture; *Engaging in the ongoing global debate and rulemaking on trade and gender, just to mention a few. It has been an incredible experience that has equipped me with the knowledge and tools to contribute meaningfully to policy-oriented research and strategies that promote gender equality through trade policies. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned from experts and peers from around the world.

They are vital for preserving food, medicines, and vaccines, form the backbone of global health and food security. GESI is not just a moral imperative; it is crucial for driving innovation, increasing efficiency, and building resilience in the cold-chain space. From farmers to consumers, men and women, young and old, urban and rural, all benefit from an inclusive system that caters to diverse needs and maximises the potential of every individual. But how can we move beyond the rhetoric and ideals of equality to ensure that no one is left behind in this vital sector?
