The AI in Translation Summit's Zoom networking session hosted by Josh Goldsmith has been my best online event experience ever :) I had my first 15-minute networking session with Fatma from Libya and Ilan from Israel. They both work with Arabic as one language, among others, and fortunately, they did not use it to talk to each other as I don't know Arabic at all. ...We talked about Fatma's MA thesis on AI translation comparing three LLMs, and ethical and legal and privacy issues around AI and LLMs. ...People need to be educated about the pros and cons of AI use. ...See Bridget Hylak, CI, CT, MTC Hylak on legal issues of AI (Protecting Translation Assets in the Age of AI https://lnkd.in/dkC3jxmd ). In the second networking session, we talked with a translator, Ana Beard, from outside London, and an interpreter, Agnieszka Tarczewska, from Poland, about the use of AI in our work and also the legal and privacy issues. ...AI appears to be good for terminology preparation and also for preparing assignments for students. ... wordscope https://pro.wordscope.com/ was recommended as a good system to take a look at. ...And since last year so many things have been changed in the AI world. And I got my first experience of Zoom group photo taking with smiles and thumbs up and everything like in the real world :) I was a camera-off observer this time but maybe will participate next time (with good preparation, do my hair, etc, beforehand ;) ) In the third networking session with interpreter Agnieszka again and new people Luke Liebzie, University Translation Tutor / Translation Office Manager from Ghana, and Carina Balbo, FCIL, CL, Language Expert from the UK, we talked much about languages and their connections. ...AI needs data to be AI. ...The smaller local languages have issues of standardization. And the standardization still starts with the translation of the Bible into smaller minority languages. ...And small is different looking from Ghana or UK or Poland. Polish is a huge language when looking from Estonia :) And Estonian, as an EU language, is in a much better position than some dialects in Ghana. And citing Gisela from the session chat: Great start to our Tuesday! :) https://lnkd.in/dGecD--5 ...And join us at 1 PM CET (Geneva) / 2 PM (Estonia) / 8 PM Beijing / 7 AM New York for the LIVE DISCUSSION: Protecting Translation Assets in the Age of AI https://lnkd.in/drdcHfY6 And see all the presentations in the #AItranslation2024 schedule https://lnkd.in/dqVfrGxY --- More insights in the comments.
The 𝐀𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 is starting soon. Busy schedule this week, but I hope I will manage to watch some presentations at least. 🙄 After Josh Goldsmith's presentation at #2024TEF, I am even more curious to attend the event. Who's joining the event? Which presentations I should not miss? #AItranslation2024

🎉 1 Year Later: I Did It! And What’s Next? 🎉 Wow, as 2024 wraps up, I can’t help but smile about a milestone I never thought I’d reach: presenting at #tcworld2024 in Stuttgart! At the start of the year, I set myself the goal of tackling one of my biggest fears: speaking at a conference. Was it scary? Oh yes! But guess what? I did it! ✨ Some Highlights: 📍 November 5, 2024: I hit the stage with my dear conference buddy,@Daniela Zambrini. 📍 From shy introvert to (kind of!) confident speaker, this year has been about stepping WAY outside my comfort zone. 📍 A big shout out to Daniela for being my dear friend, colleague, and even my banana 🍌 supplier when conference nerves kicked in. ✨ Looking Back on 2024: This year has been about growth, courage, and taking leaps of faith. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, and I’ve learned that fear is just a stepping stone. 🚀 What’s Next for 2025? In 2025, I’m focusing on: • Consolidating my cooperation with Daniela to bring even more value to our projects together. • Understanding the potential of AI in technical communication. • Expanding my skill set by learning, experimenting, and sharing insights in the #TechComm community. 🥂 Here’s to wrapping up 2024 with joy and diving into 2025 with energy!!!

#2024 is wrapping up, which means it’s time for reports and analysis. But let’s forget the numbers for a second. This year was a wild ride at Aryel ⤵️ We incubated, launched, and faced down some epic fails while celebrating quick wins—all part of Aryel’s lean, adaptive approach. But here’s the real story: people. No lead would close without a killer sales pitch. No campaign would pop in brand metrics without our designers delivering the perfect messaging (Matteo Bardoscia). No CTR would climb without Marco Angellotti masterminding the strategy (even if you've joined the dark side 😂). No event would happen without Davide Bettinelli—seriously, they don’t even try without him. No mistake would turn into a laughable story without Elena Soraya Aliyari to make it hilarious. And no contractor would escape unscathed without Rossella Selenati negotiating like a pro. Here’s the truth: what lasts isn’t the #metrics—it’s the people. And I get to hustle with the best. Ad Maiora. #2025, we’re coming for you.

Back in the train from the #DACH30 Meet-Up in Bern I am energized and cannot wait to share new insights with my colleagues active in (agile) #transformations back “home” at #MunichRe. Three intense days lie behind me. Thank you so much Alex Wigger, Stefan Kohler #swisscom, Thomas Meier #SBB & Luise Bornand #Post for hosting and moderating this event in such an excellent manner. A huge bunch of diverse perspectives from manifold enterprises, broad experiences and a deep commitment to open exchange along a shared vision make this event always an asset. A short wrap-up on my special highlights of the last days: - Discussions in our proven Open Space format more and more turn towards culture and leadership - away from mere method implication. A rising topic: the role AI is going to play in this game in future. Besides worth mentioning a very interesting discussion on how to cure “addition sickness” in transformation and beyond. - Great key note by @Gerd Niehage, CTO/CIO of #Swisscom. The aspect that triggered me most: the antagonism between a 100% reliability towards client expectations vs. the freedom to experiment and innovate (that is much too familiar to me). Besides the increased necessity for management teams to withstand and act united in the face of unsolvable conflicts. - A “Micro-Hackathon” on a Business Case of one of our member companies, during which we combined forces in working on possible solutions. A great opportunity to see what incredible knowledge and experience we altogether bring to the table. - So many enriching side conversations that revealed to be pure serendipity for learning and growth. Thank you dear #DACH30 Community colleagues for all your great contributions!
